2004-11-28 Half-Life 2 (c) Valve *RETAIL* VENGEANCE

Need confirmation that it really works. Any1 played it for awhile without getting any of the old "bad release" errors? Or maybe some new line of errors?

hi guys!

i'm stuck at the elevator in black mesa

I've got the EMPORIO version (the first one) with the Ape fix and the cfg file modified (i avoid ai disabled).
I've tried to save the game as i have entered the elevator and reload it but it's still the same :/

What should I do ?

Thx in advance

PS : if any of you would have a save juste after she got in the lift, it would be cool Smile

Anyone have that problem where your saved games are all out of order? (Everytime I start HL2, the saved game dates ALL change to the current date.)

I'm using the Emporio Proper with Edministrator HUD fix and Neko's AI fix.

Yes, I think we've all got that. I heard it's fixed in the Vengeance releases but as far as I know there is nothing can be done yet for emporio/aXpi/ahu versions.

Yep, same problem here with save games - they all have the same date and time is 00:00:00...

One question about the CD Version Upgrade Crack: I grabbed the CD Retail version by vengeance, so can I replace the crack on cd5 with this CD Version Upgrade?

Ok...I downloaded "HALF-LIFE.2.OFFLINE.NOSTEAM.REPACK-AHU" and it works great save for the fact that I have no sound. Any suggestions?

Cool, but you should still just use Half-Life 2: Update.

I wish that worked alongside Cinematic Mod, it sounds FANTASTIC for improving the gunplay and gameplay overall - but I enjoy the visual lick of paint that comes from CM Smile

~edit~

Oh snap, it does! Surprised It does work with CM2013 Surprised Great stuff, thanks blackeyedboy!

Thanks for the heads up, if there's one thing that I would improve in HL2 it's indeed the punchiness of the gunplay + related animations/feedback, and that mod appears to be taking care of everything. Another playthrough is definitely in order Razz *soon-ish*

started playing this after finished black mesa, finished main game and now playing the episodes, havent played any of them since release. played update + mmod and it looks like this is the definitive way to play it.

was surprised at how good the game still holds, looks excelent in some places and with the weapons upgrade the game definitely holds, what i found most annoying are the loading times between zones which breaks immersion, probably the most outdated mechanic i could find.

as for the gameplay, just like with black mesa, its ok, can say boring in some places but still holds up due to its simplicity, feels like the game was ahead of its time but definitely not the best shooter ever as today, people saying this clearly delusional and havent played many shooters. just as with classic movies they still hold but are they still the best? probably not.

also i dont understand the fascination of alyx though, was it because it was something new at that time? it does feel like it was ahead of its time technically, the way she acts around you etc, but i would say elizabeth from bioshock infinite was done so much better but clearly at a different point in time.

i was afraid going into this that black mesa would feel more advanced given its more recent but thats not the case, hl2 update with mmod definitely feels like a sequel

i think half life 1 had great gunplay, never played the campaign but played tons of mp. i found the guns in hl2 kinda lacking when the game released, which is why i never really cared about the game. i tried playing hl2 deathmatch but never really got into it. even now mmod helps a little with punchiness and animations but the core is still the same, same with black mesa.

its exact same thing with cs 1.6 and cs source/go, played tons of 1.6 just cant get into cs go...something about source engine and shooting...which is strange given titanfall and apex legends are on source and have one of the best/fluid movement/shooting out there

So I installed HL2 Update with MMod and what the fuck is up with the loading times and autosave stutters? I followed various "solutions" I found online but they did nada/niente.

had 0 problems...hl2 did changed after all...

anyway finished the episodes now...episode 2 was so much better than ep 1 and main game, had much more variety and chapters werent long so it didnt feel boring like some chapters in main game, and had much more story and finaly it started picking up and was going in interesting places...

damn..what a score to end the game on and eventually the franchise...until recently with hl alyx.

https://github.com/Jackathan/MarcLaidlaw-Epistle3/blob/master/Epistle3_Corrected.md

after finishing bm then starting hl2 i got the impression that every new game would be like that, fresh start with gman bringing gordon into another conflict, so hl3 would be like again many years into the future and ep3 would mean end of hl2 story. now reading that ep3 synopsis and some interviews from the lead writer seems i was right.

now since mmod has support for mod minerva metastasis too i gave it a shot and no wonder valve hired the guy, it really feels like a slice of hl2, must play i would say, free on steam too if you own the games just like hl 2 update.
