Okay, so I got an iHas burner, and flashed it, and burnt vert's MK-003's

Now I get unsupported disc. I modified the disc to work with LT2.0 with the PPF - game installs 100% no problem.

Now I get disc not supported when trying to boot the game, but I was able to before with a truncated burn?

Do I HAVE to have LT3.0? I have a liteon so it would be a pain in the ass to update.

Great to know, I probably just fucked it up somehow. Could you message me how you patched the ISO? Not sure if the PPF method is the current up to date way.

EDIT:So I've used backup creator to patch the 2.0 topology in, and burnt it using the recommended settings and calculated optimal layer break. Disc continually says unsupported. Not sure where to go from here?

The game also installs 100% then says disc unsupported when I try to play.

Great game, played my first 5 hours today.
Pros: good gameplay, excellent combat, huge world, good story, no fucking loading
screen every house you enter!!!
Cons: black stupid bars, graphics are mediocre at best, screen tearing.
In conclusion really good game but a shame for not being on par with other games.
Bye bye life! 100 hours here we go Smile

Shit I really like this game, haha. Didn't think I would from hearing some of the things, but I really like how it feels and looks, aside from some questionable models/faces. Pleasantly surprised.

I think the world is way prettier and the combat is more exciting. Especially all the amazing weapons you get in Reckoning. I'd recommend that over Dragon's Dogma.

Are You Serious

Actually why am I surprised, it's kotaku. What I don't get is why the fuck do people even go to kotaku?! For reviews or anything. No rly, why? Laughing

Really nice game so far (2h in). I like the influences from jRPG's (the fact that you can play as a kid for example, how many western RPG's lets you do that..?), seems like a really nice mix. The graphics and especially the animations are great imo. I'm not sure what the hell is wrong with the reviewers for this game? Guess they're on the same PMS cycle or something.

It's because most of them went into Dragons Dogma expecting Skyrim. While Dragon Dogma is more like Gothic, witch kinda makes seeing how Gothic got bashed as well, especially in teh states.

it's pretty funny as those reviews are from the same jurno hipsters complaining about a lack of new IPs, especially from Capcom. -_-'

Its like this black rectangular box that goes from one side to the other. One at the top of the screen and one and the bottom.

Nah just kiding, waiting for my ihas... Sad

It's the letter box effect, witch might not be as noticeable your view of the screen, i.e. large screen or the distance between you and your screen.
I assume it might have something to do with the resolution - they maybe set for the best ration of look / performance (to ease the screen tearing effect for example) and might have ended up with some weird wide resolution and covered the rest up with black bars.

Hey I got a question. (Don't kill me but) I buy backups off someone who I've been buying backups for 15 years (since PS1) $5 a disc anyway he says and I quote

Quote:
there is a problem
with the release of Dragons Dogma. The game works but every once in a while "Dirty Disc Error" comes out.
Everyone is reporting this. Rumors are MS added some new protection on that title that is causing this. We
are all waiting for a proper rip to come out so you will have to get that one next order.

Is this true? I haven't seen that reported anywhere. (including this thread)

I do see now earlier in this thread people were saying the same thing about the disc not reading.

So is this playable from a disc at all or from jtag only?

Playable from a disk just fine, but only on LT3.0 and burned via LTMax. Truncate doesn't work.

Hm, I don't know about that then... sorry. If you at least have LT2.0, then it should be fine to play if you burn with the LTMax-flashed DVD writer.

Yeah this 360 is so old that it isn't capable of reading the AP 2.5 protection that MS put in so it never needed 3.0 which is why 3.0 doesn't exist for it, that I do know.

I've been able to play all new releases and old ones too.

Glad I bought a iHas burner, first burn was bad but then I desided to burn it the normal way as I always burned my games and it works great, the iHas burner was worth my 36 euro`s.

Even installed it to Harddisk and works great not like I had before when using Truncate, cause when I used that I was able to install it to harddisk but when I then played games I got the msg bad disc after 2 min of playing.

So my settings are now

iHas124B
LT 3.0
Verbatim disc
burn at 4 speed
able to play games while installed to harddisk (isnt working when using Truncate.

Glad sabin1981 ones said here to me that install wont work with Truncate, that way made me deside to buy a iHas124B burner.

Thanks again for that info Sabin.

I'm pretty sure you'll be okay on LT2.0 as long as you're using the iHas burner with LTMax to burn the game. From all reports I can find, LT2.0/iHas has been successful - so if you haven't got the iHas burner yet (like me.. Crying or Very sad) then you'll have to look into getting one as truncating the burn DOESN'T work for Dragon's Dogma ... and it's a good bet that new upcoming titles will end up being the same, especially when developers start actively using that extra 1GB of space on the DVD rather than just for security.

@Shadow_X

Only just saw the edit; you're welcome Very Happy

Can't get myself to like this Sad No proper fast travel in a world as large as this is a real downer, but the problem is the combat. So chaotic and it seems as everyone deals twice if not three times as much damage as myself.

Thanks but like I mentioned I buy the backups off a dude I know. I told him about what you guys said and he responded

Quote:
Yes I have the LT MAX and do not truncate. Maybe I burned it on one of my other 3 burners by mistake but Im pretty sure I did use it.
Ill burn another let you know.

So he's going to try again hope it works.
