Because they improved upon it? In FEAR whenever someone used BT EVERYONE was slowed down in each area of the map (even when you were climbing a ladder far from the shootout that's happening). That was annoying and stupid.

In MP3, BT is based on the line of sight.

Just finished Max Payne 2. What a great game, one of those cases where the sequel surpasses the original. Great narrative, simple yet really fun gameplay. I have to confess that I was impressed by how well the game has aged in the graphics department, several settings even looked gorgeous. Also, you have to feel sorry for Max Bring on Max Payne 3
