I hope they finally release the 1.02 update they promised 1 month ago, because the game is unplayable as of now on PS3.

Too lazy to report again, just see one of my older post (I think it was in the Silent Hill Downpour thread though for some reason, if it's not here Razz), but mostly FPS issues, the game is too slow.

the PS2 versions were actually superior than the PC version, except for the 6480x480i resolution obviously.

Just wanted to post for those that are still interested in this game : the PS3 version got a patch last week making the game finally playable.

The game still slows down a lot, but at least, it doesnt make it run as a slideshow, and there is proper frameskip now, so it's less noticeable.

Also, missing sounds are fixed, fog is nicer, and overall effects are nicer (less washed out, SH3 finally looks a lot more like the PS2 version).

Overall the port is finally okish now, I heard it's actually better than the X360 version (which was less buggy).

I had completed SH2 on the X360 and didn't really face any major issues. Although, I have heard SH3 does have it's fair share of problems. No patch planned for it I suppose?

Does it? and yes, I meant the 360 version. This is the only game remaining for me to complete in the HD collection. However, the GameFAQ members claimed that there were some grave issues with the game. So was just wondering if it was unplayable or just some minor bugs. If you've completed the game, then I'm sure, I can too. Very Happy

Looks like you were right Blam. I'm Brookhaven Hospital part and have barely had any issues with it till now.

The only issue (minor) I found was the lip-sync being out of place during the cinematic cut-scenes. Anyway, I love the atmosphere of this game. It's much more creepier than Silent Hill 2. And I hate those Split-Headed mutts. Mad

Im glad you're enjoying it Smile , only enemy that I hated more are those crawling fucks in Hell dimension...when they hit you , you fall down on the ground and you need a fuckin minute to get up..damn they were annoying.

Game is indeed fantastic , yeah they could do more with this HD collection..but the essence of the games is preserved.

I wished they would have included the other Silent Hill games in this HD collection too. The first one would have been difficult, but The Room and Shattered Memories could have been ported on a separate disc.

I'm not sure how popular these 2 titles were, but it would have made an almost complete HD collection. This whole HD re-mastering idea is ingenious. I'm catching up on a lot of old games I missed while I had the PS2.

Anyhoo, I'll probably complete it by tonight or latest by tomorrow, right before the August titles onslaught begins. Very Happy

The Room is not in this collection?!

All this time I was under the impression that SH2,3 and 4 where here... and was saving them for a nice SH marathon later in oct, especially looking forward to play SH4 - The Room witch I never got to finish on both the PS2 and PC.

And I really like The Room as well, like you said BLaM!, it was different but far from bad, like the purist will have you believe.

Well balls, that's a huge disappointment! Sad

SH4 was the last enjoyable SH, but anyone would tell you that SH2 and SH3 are the best so you aren't missing THAT much. What made SH4 less good than the others was that you are stuck in your apartment during 50% of the game, which was really boring, even though intriguing...

But yeah, I'm glad I played and finished SH4, it was more enjoyable than 95% of today games, but even though that's the one I played last, I remember SH2 & 3 a lot more...

if you go into detail WHY they will not patch it .. its because they have Two games on ONE DISK that needs TWO patches and ONE PATCH for ONE GAME COSTS 2500$ Laughing

so easy math 5k$ for 2 patches .... for a game that didn't sell that well on xbox360

to explain more THIS GAME selling pice was 39.99$ so they would had to sell 167 copies to hit the 5k ... but to have a patch you have to have min 2000 copies SOLD

Attention Silent Hill fans:

If you purchased Silent Hill HD Collection for the Xbox 360 new and from a recognized retailer, and still have the original receipt, please send your receipt to Konami Customer Service for verification and further details on how to exchange your product. All requests must be made in writing and submitted on or before 10.07.2012 and is subject to availability. Any inquiries received after this date will not fall under this exchange program.

Fair enough, I guess, since they've refused to patch the game at least they're offering refund/exchange whatever.

I think, like the PS3 version before the 1.02 patch, fog, shadows and colors were a complete mess compared to the PS2 version.
Sure, it wouldnt kill the experience, but it's still nice the PS3 version got that fixed (it's far from being on par with the PS2 version but it's much much better now).

As said above, it's indeed true dev need to pay thousands of bucks just for a patch, I guess they felt obliged to cash out for the PS3 version since the game was a complete mess and a slideshow fest, and thought it wasnt worth it for the 360 version, they are probably not expecting many people refunding the game.

Now I bet they didnt think about people that didnt encounter / complain about any bug and that will still ask for a refund after completing the game Very Happy

Finally, no wonders the MGS Peace Walker HD port sucked compared to the other 2 ports, it was a port by the same team as Silent Hill HD, and not BluePoint that ported MGS2, 3 , ICO and GoW 1 & 2.... These guys are a complete mess.
