It's located in C:\Games\Max.Payne.3.Special.Edition, and as you see on my screenshot, i'm not on Windows 8, and i never will be 
Currently busy to copy the game to my other pc and see if it manages to run there. Because then i know that there is something on my pc causing this.

sausje Start from MaxPayne3.exe and not launcher exe after update and crack. Cracked exe doesn't interfere with launcher anymore

Other file doesn't work at all, jumping from ~88mb to ~300mb usage nonstop
Edit: even blocking the exe from accessing the internet and then trying to go offline mode won't work.
On both pc's the maxpayne3.exe keeps jumping in usage all the time..

Is something blocking the .dll file or what it's using to bypass Steam (Or rather the copy protection but the crack is based on Steam.) and is all relevant files present?
steam_api.dll a modified game exe, probably skidrow.dll and a ini file, perhaps one other Steam file I'm not currently sure about.

It's a third person cover shooter, faster paced than normal and slightly more difficult.
(With some tricks like the bullet camera and slow motion action and a real nice attention to detail, I haven't seen bloody footsteps since like Duke 3D or such, heh and the physics system is just as impressive as it was in GTA IV.)
Rockstar has done pretty well to try and recreate what Remedy did with the first two Max Payne titles but I've just started playing so we'll see how that holds up later on, so far I'm pleased with the game and as said before even at the higher settings it is very well optimized. (Or well it feels like it is, I can't see the actual framerate currently.)

Well managed to get a little further, but now stuck on loading after i pressed enter on splash.
Edit: prolly due me not having social club installed..

Maybe it's something with their server then if more people are getting this problem?
It worked here, installed yesterday and updated it two times before it was unlocked (First was a small launcher update and the second updated the social club program.) and then it downloaded that 170 MB larger update (1.0.0.17) which first crashed as it started immediately after updating but then it worked just fine and I got my key some hours later and there was no problems there.
(It tries to start the social club program since it authorizes the key via that and your user account there but the cracked edition probably has that removed or you'll be using a blank account or such.)

I got the IND release, dont know if anything is cracked or removed there..I hope not.. I already patched the game,but as soon as i start the launcher now, it pops up for 4 secs and then closes again..And if I try the maypayne3.exe , nothing happens.. Damnit.. :/

to the people where it wont launch,did you do all this?
 Spoiler: | 1) Download images licensed retail version. Set. Rockstar Social Club if it was before that it is desirable to remove and install the new with the game.
2) Update the game to 1.0.0.17, running PlayMaxPayne3.exe.
3) Download the archive mp3.rar -nolinksplzthankyou-
4) (Note, I advise you to backup replaced files) Extract the contents to your game folder, replacing YES answer.
5) Run MaxPayne3.exe.
6) From the menu, press Enter, pop Rockstar Social Club, register, enter a profile, return to menus and voila screensaver starts, and then the main game menu.Also optional, but not necessarily:
1) Delete entry Rockstar Games Social Club in the registry:-For 32-bit OS – HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Rockstar Games \-For 64-bit OS – HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Wow6432Node \ Rockstar Games \
2) Update video card drivers, Microsoft NET.Framework.
3) Run the game in compatibility mode for Win7 and an administrator.
4) IMPORTANT! Rename the folder of the game “Max Payne 3″ to “MaxPayne3″ (in a way that no gaps!)Tested on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, retail version of Max Payne 3 (4 images, the size – 26.7 GB ). All works well, including conservation.Of course, the full functionality can not be guaranteed! |
