Well then why some people are mentioning the word "Firewall" with the game?...

So you won't connect to the RLD Social Club account, I think.

To block the main game .exe from accessing the net and Rockstar's servers... why else?

You need a command line to specify the language: -language english

Normal is already very challenging. Chose hard only if you really mean hard.

Hard is indeed quite unforgiving, you really need to anticipate you enemies' moves and somehow plan your strategy before facing them.

Going Rambo-style very often guarantees an insta-death, and I love this. You always need to be very careful Razz

I just need to do something about the slugginess of the mouse Sad This isn't THAT bad, but nowhere near the freedom of movement in MP2 Sad

And yes, this game is a good old time drainer! Very Happy

I set the mouse sensitivity on max, the gamepad acceleration on 1, disabled the annoying "target slowdown" setting and raised my mouse's dpi...it's not perfect but definitely better Smile

Game is incredible. Loving every minute of it. Altough, from time to time, the screen turns into a funny color and I get a loud sort of buzzing noice. You guys think it´s the gfx card spooking? Using a ATI radeon HD 5670.

this is an excellent game, 10/10 stars.

THE MOVEMENT technology and character's animation is 100% real life.

can't wait to see this tech in GTA5 Smile

Game is great and all, and I play on hard, but this mouse acceleration makes it even harder. I can't even aim sometimes.

Yeah the animations are extremely good. I think the most surprising thing I saw was when a grenade made Max fall towards a wall, and he used his elbow to brace himself against it.

correct me if im wrong, but doesn't running the game executable (MaxPayne3.exe not PlayMaxPayne3.exe) prevent the auto-updater at launch? I use the CloneDVD release + Revolt Crack (allowed the .exe to connect through the windows firewall on first start) with an online rgsc-profile I created specifically for the game.
works just fine for me, only thing I have to complain about is the complete lack of any manual savegame-management. I'm doing a solo runthrough and at the same time want to be able to do a separate attempt in "hotseat"-mode with some of my friends. I know I could create another RGSC profile but there would be no way to keep the current progress from the current profile (<- wtf is that all about on another note? managing the unlocked achievements can't be the sole reason). so for now I'm stuck with keeping a separate backup-copy of the /rockstar games/max payne3/profiles folder for each run (+ copy/paste depending on where I wanna continue).
I can somewhat understand, why some developers decide to abandon quicksaving in favor of an 'consolish' autosave-feature, but not being able to influence what savegames you want to keep is annoying.

afaik they downsampled the videos to 720p from 1080p. dunno what else they did though

anyone know what the default taunt key is?

I was testing playing with my xbox controller and noticed pressing Y would make my guy yell out a taunt. Says it's the interact button on config page for controller, but doesn't do anything on my keyboard.

MP is hella fun BTW!
