Hmm could be interesting, wonder what they'll do with this installment, modern setting maybe, ha ha.

EDIT: Doesn't seem like it but judging by that single image there's a bunch of modern post-processing effects utilized. Razz

@JBeckman:

Please don't give them ideas Crying or Very sad

Oh and:"Fans hoping for a sequel to the 2008 re-imagining of the series might be disappointed."

Who exactly is hoping for a sequel to that???

A re-imagining of the series would be 1988 or even further back wouldn't it?

As long as they skip ~2004 or what it was PoP 3D I guess it'll be fine. Very Happy

EDIT: Ah no they meant the re-imagined trilogy of course.
(Sands of Time and that.)

EDIT: Yeah I guess the fans will judge the game depending on how it turns out.

(...And I guess the fans will be coming too if it turns out to be really good... )

Also that swirly logo they use

Huh?! I sure as hell am. I liked that more than the "Sands" series. I was really disappointed when I saw that they already abandoned that and went back to the "Sands" series because hurr duuuurrr the fans wanted that back!!!11!!!11!

Disappointment once again... Sad

Eh, really?

Well, to each his own.

I hated the new cartoony look. Boring, repetitive gameplay didn't help either. Piss easy enemies too.

Pretty much the whole game. Never died once. In a Prince of Persia game.

I don't think you could die in that Prince of Persia title, had nearly forgotten about it but I had fun with playing through it though I didn't replay it.

Yeah, you get revived by that chick who fights with light.

But I never got to a point where I needed to be revived.

Good. I hope it's a return to the complex platforming of TTT. I still remember how many times I had to restart my save to get that final life upgrade! Now that was a challenge! Laughing

1 and 2 are still amazing.

I hope they go back to the original trilogy they made instead of the last one. While I did like the last one for its art style and atmosphere, it was boring as a game (push jump.....push jump....push jump).

Agreed! I enjoyed Forgotten Sands, it had pretty solid platforming and decent puzzles, unlike PoP 08's automated gameplay and one button awesomeness.

Something similar to the "oldgen" PoP games would be even better of course, but it's Ubi, the surprise is aways around the corner. And very often it's a bad one Laughing

warrior within was the worst of the trilogy, but its still miles better than that pos 2008 cel-shaded one.
ah well, sands of time is still by far the best one of the newer games.

come to think of it, the 2008 game was so automated that it played like a rhythm game, it was like prince of persia parappa the rapper edition.

Laughing Laughing

==========

For me it like this:

1. Warrior Within (the best)

2. Sands of Time

3. The Two Thrones (the worst from the old trilogy for me)

As for the 'current-gen' ones: I liked the characters in PoP 2008 very much, Elika & Prince were really a nice duet. The Forgotten Sands, on the other hand, had far better gameplay (more complex and even somewhat demanding). Combat mechanics were shit though - no combos whatsoever. Just constantly hit one button to kill everything.

You can't be serious. The element mechanics in The Forgotten Sands were the best part about the game which were used quite ingeniously during the final few levels.

As for the trilogy, everyone will have different tastes but generally The Sands of Time is the game which appears on the greatest games charts always.

1 and 2 are still amazing.

It wasn't that terrible, the art style was good as well as the story/dialogues between the two protagonists, it's the gameplay that was..well very repetitive, easy and "guided", you could practically do everything with the press of a single button Razz

This is pretty much how it is for me:

1. PoP 2008

2. The Forgotten Sands

3. Sands of Time and PoP 3D

4. Warrior Within and The Two Thrones

Absolutely the same here. Loved the 2008 PoP.
