It's a faulty disc image it would seem, I re-downloaded from two additional sources and it does the same.
(Unpack disc image and all works fine and then the disc image unpacks successfully but the data2.cab file on it - which is just a standard zip archive renamed - gets a CRC mismatch error with that specific file during extraction so for now I don't have it but the game works without that file present but will probably bug out when that scene is set to appear.)

so we need a fix for the corrupt files otherwise the game may hang or bug out.

There's 49 video files so it should appear roughly halfway through the game.
(Or maybe it just does a 1-sec black screen and then resumes.)

Well my video.vv026 exists and i didnt get any errors that i can recall.
But even if it errors out can't you just replace it with another video file? Like copy paste video.vv01 and rename it?

I might just have had back luck then unless the installer ignores the CRC issue and extracts the file anyway, I'll have to check up on that.

Spoiler: | As I thought. The game bugged on me right at this scene. The rope was just inactive on the tree. Bah ... loaded an older save and it works now.
As for your trouble - did you cut off the horn at the shaman scene near the drumming ork? |

To the people with low frame rates:
Are you sure you don't have Texture Compression checked on (under the VisionaireConfigurationTool.exe or whatever its called). Because I know when I checked that option (turning the Texture Compression On) it slowed the game down to a crawl.

Yes, that was it. The problem is if u check "texture compression" then performace is 2-3 fps...what the fuck is texture compression ??? Without it checked, game work on 200fps...
I wonder wtf is texture compression ???

Compressed (lower quality but less memory consuming.) textures, you normally don't need it.
(By default without ini editing it uses a fast but very low quality method as well, might be a bug if it goes to a single digit framerate.)

Stuck at ...
Spoiler: | ... the harbor town. The sailor, acting as a bouncer to the ship, keeps asking for some banter (I received a drawing from the man at the first scene, from which I have to construct it). I manage to get most of the associations on the drawing by trying to 'combine' it with different objects in my inventory, but haven't progressed much further in regard of fully understanding its meaning... |
