do you have wheel?
it is hard as hell to drift at shift 2 and i read here and there that people got difficulties to drift using wheel. the only way to drift is with gamepad or similar controller.

maybe all of this people (including me:) just don't know how to do it,but they saying that they can drift in other games and when using shift 2 it is imposible (using wheel like g25-27 etc).

LFS(Live for Speed) would be the best option for you mate. Best one for drifting.

Why not play a racing sim like GTR/GTR2/GT Legends etc and setup your car to be extremely rear biased? Pretty easy to do and those games are more fun than the arcade games that feel terrible with steering wheels (i.e. made for analog joysticks).

edit: LiveForSpeed sounds nice. Ill have to give that a try.

If you want it to feel anything near real -> LFS.

Though be warned, that guy did some heavy editing on the video, there are no explosions and no such particle effects Laughing

And there are no golf and rice-racer, but you can download and add them to your game.

The game is a simulation in it's core and me and ixi just drove around in multi player, which is quite fun, even with a mouse instead of a wheel Very Happy

get a rear traction car , and go to a empty parkin lot, its the way to learn, you wont learn anything playin video games, thrust me, nothing beats the real thing, and yes i gos a lot of experience in gt5 and forza 4 with wheels, but the 1º time i try out in real life, almost wrecked the car.

Yeah but GT5 and Forza 4 are a _JOKE_ in the simulation aspect, compared to LFS.

It's like training with Call of Duty to be a soldier Laughing

I got LFS 0.6b from the official page, than the unlocker for 0.6b which enables all cars and tracks and than the LAN Patch for 0.6b, so that you can join friends on hamachi network and create your own server and play. There are apparently a lot of hamachi lfs servers, just google I'd say Smile

LFS is still awesome, I used to play it some years ago but recently Pumpy made me try with the mouse and it was absolutely perfect, especially for some quick multiplayer fun. Also the more people play it the merrier; we should organize some Hump races for the lolz Razz

Shift 2 is good too for drifting, but the best ones were GTR2 and rFactor with drift mods/specific addon cars, very hard to tame but damn satisfying.

As a real-life drifter, i gotta say that the only game that prepared me to what was comming to me was LFS, go for it. Everything else is just "FUN"

Another +1 for LFS from me, nothing comes close to it. The drifting in Shift 1 is better than in Shift 2 in fact, it's quite a bit simplified in Shift 2. I haven't tried it in pCars because drifting is not my thing, but I expect it's better than both Shift games Smile

Start off with an RWD, but don't go for one of the top ones yet as they'll require a bit more finesse on the throttle. RWD because it's easier to kick out the back with them. Just don't expect it to be like GRID etcetera, where full throttle keeps it under full control, you'll have to play with the throttle a lot. If you go for manual clutch, you can throw that in the mix as well to really take control Smile

I'd be up for that!

And yes, lol @ mentioning GT5 in this context. That game is about as realistic as NFS Laughing
Heck, one of the most fun cars to drive in GT5 is the Elise, but even in that you can go full throttle with all assists off and keep it under control; try that in the real thing or a proper sim and you'll spin out because it has 0 grip Razz

Werelds you are so often online on TS, just spare some minutes for us Wink If you don't have the unlocker/lan-patch just hit me up there Wink

BTW I'd gladly pay for this gem, but there is just 0 support. They promised YEARS ago to implement new tire physics and the "new" VW Scirocco Sad

I've had a legal copy since long before that so

It is just a 3-man team so I sort of get it, but they should really let some of the community help them out. At least pCars keeps making nice jumps forward Smile
