This was my first JRPG, and remains my favourite, so it's good news. Unless they added some of the graphical mods though, there are existing versions that would still be better

This was the game that almost turned me off the RPGs genre entirely. Can't stand jap RPGs.. The have such atrocious writing and dialog, and hands down the worst characters ever. If it wasn't for taking a random chance on the witcher, I'd never have know RPGs could be well written and fun.

Yeah, there are heavily modded FFVII-PC releases out there that offer a far better solution than this does... unless of course you want to pay $10 for some achievements. Hopefully this one is as moddable as the original PC release.

And here I thought the average FF fan found it immensly fun to grind and farm for half a year, five hours a day, to have enough of item xyz to be able to defeat that optional secret special boss with 15 million hp.

I beat Penance (FFX) and Omega (FFVIII) without any grinding, so yeah... beating hidden bosses is immensely fun and rewarding. To be honest, the only creature I've ever struggled against in any FF title is Adamantoise on the Archylte Steppe in FFXIII. That boss wasn't even remotely fun, it was by far the cheapest piece of shit to ever come out of FF and further evidence of how the company sunk to new depths once the real talent quit.

Interesting. I never both with the black versions of those regular bosses in FF X (forgot their name) or Penance. I only read that several people were indeed grinding for months to beat those which is, in my eyes, simply not worth it. Omega on the other hand was easy, as were those in other FF games I played (Ozma in IX, for example). FF X was my last FF though since all JRPGs feel the same to me.
