It's using that Star-Force protection again based on the files it uses, can't see anything about localization currently but I'll keep checking.
(Above release is just the digital download files without any means to run the game.)

EDIT: Actually there seems to be English voice files at least.

EDIT: And text files. Smile

Reaction Amazing. Companies still using StarForce after all the trashy antics they've pulled? Reaction

This is not quite the normal Star-Force protection but rather some variation though I think it's been used a number of times, here it's used as it's the RU version (With support for English language.) and published by 1C so that's why they are using it. Smile

It can't be compared to earlier versions as this does not use drivers and all those issues from 3.0 up to 4.5 or such, it's actually quite a good protection now.
(Still not that popular here in the West but it's used now and then, likely as you say it's at least partially due to their reputation.)

I guess the gamemechanics are awesome but not with console controllers. Thats the point why the game got bad console marks i sppse. Also devs are Russians who always did PC games as well as i know.
The textures look aweful but what would you expect from a physics-laying game? Its a sacrifice i sppse due to the top-notch physix.
I am sure pc-reviews MUST be much better anyhow.

As for the StarForce - the only and main reason i hate it is that i have tons of starforce protected Russian retail games at my dusty shelves and i download "other versions" from internet to play without a disc because many of the original disks cant be used with Win7 due to starforce drivers incompatability even with star-force update.

So thats the protection which sponsors the no-disk fixes. That means its worst.

Yes it works.

Btw, I'm not able to assign the right mouse button to aim. They've assigned it to E and this feels so weird.
The mouse keys are detected as a select toggle for whatever control we want to change.

What does it say about the rest of the port when they can't even code key mapping properly? I mean, holy fucking shit, it takes all of 3 minutes to boot a game and make sure that every key and mouse button are assignable. Nothing pisses me off more than lazy fucking devs like this. If they can't get something this simple right.....well....

Thought this was using Unreal Engine 3 but seeing the file structure it seems to be something completely different.

Will be interesting to see how the game is.

No. It is timeshift's starbreeze inhouse engine. The same as Will Rock Razz

I remember that game, one of my early co-op experiences.
(Will Rock that is, also I really enjoyed Timeshift despite it's flaws it was a very fun game.)

This might be a OK game as well, mouse can't be altered much since both buttons are already taken for shooting (MB2 uses that "thing" whatever it is.) and scroll is used for weapon switching.

Runs pretty good but it kinda should since it also does look a bit dated but that's not really a problem, gameplay is nearly a straight up FPS but with this gravity mechanic although from what I've read it's not implemented to the best results but it works OK though it could have been better apparently.

The Russian version that leaked earlier used a system that was nearly original to Star-Force although reduced a bit to just online activation (They've scrapped a lot of the weird stuff that was in 3.0 up to 4.0 so now it's pretty much on par with SecuROM or Tages, still annoying but can be dealt with easily.) however the Steam version seems nearly unprotected, there's no CEG or such at least from what I can see.
(Exe wasn't altered after the game was started, I guess it's just using the Steam API lightly if at all.)
