I hate you, guys. You've made me check this closer and now i can't leave it alone. Story and atmosphere are great...

As for the generic shooter, i can live with it, because of the aforementioned elements (though if they've put some better gameplay, this would actually be a good game).

Ha, I knew it! Cool Face

Yeah, totally deserved it! Now, excuse me, i must go shoot myself! The shame, the horror!

Alright I'm convinced. I'll try playing this again for the story as soon as there's an editor for the encrypted ini files so i can disable bEnableMouseSmoothing.

Would you say the story is so good, that it boosts the overall experience from generic to really good?

Man, that one scene in chapter 8... that stuff is not easy to stomach. This game definitely left me thinking, not so much about the story (I am a fan of Heart of Darkness) but about certain aspects from the game, like that scene in chapter 8.

Thanks for the tools
So I edited SRInput.ini, disabled mouse smoothing and remapped the CancelCine key to F12 but the cutscenes still dont skip
At least I can still skip cutscenes with the Xbox controller, just found that out Wink

Derp derp but that statement is true for the most part. There needs to be a balance. Hardcore seems never sell in quantities. The problem is, something that was seen by hardcore purists as arcade 5-10 years ago is now seen as a hardcore military shooter that is not "fun". Laughing

Now shooters are "authentic". Laughing

Not yet, unsure what would need to be updated but DLC is planned based on the contents in the ini files that can now be accessed with the above decrypter.
(And encrypter in order for the game to read the changes properly.)

@Leo: Exactly, compromises are surely necessary, and according to the majority out there (that guy included) "in order to make a game more realistic, developers would have to sacrifice crucial game mechanics and strategies that inherently make games fun."

I guess we old elitists folks just have a completely different concept of fun. Laughing

Inter_in_active yet again proves to me how snob and elitists art hip people are that play games , how they stopped enjoying them and how they would like this new form of entertainment called Games still be Pong and have no logic in them... if they would need a story they would go to a cinema or read a book

oh go cry me a river and i will swim in it
