Thanks Zeel! I didn't realise it was developed by Platinum Games. I'm a huge fan of their previous 2 titles; Bayonetta & Vanquish. Never heard about this game though.

Bayonetta is one of my fav games of the current console generation, she is also in this
game as an unlockable character.
These kind of games usually are that way, Blam. Boss Battles is something I'm interested in and by the looks of the gameplay videos, it does seem to offer a good variety. Since this month is high 'n dry anyway, so won't hurt to try this out once.

I would usually be apprehensive judging from the trailer, but on the other hand, its made by platinum games - one of the few devs nowadays with very consistent quality, who are yet to create a single bad game.
Yeah, that's one thing which bummed me out too. Looking at the gameplay vids and knowing that it offered 2 protagonists in the story campaign, they could have integrated co-op. It would have been a blast. I'll let you know how it turns out though.

Correct! Although, the dialogues seemed cringe-worthy, I'm hoping it delivers in the combat/gameplay aspect. Are you playing the story campaign right now? If yes, which character have you started off with?
i have the game, and let me tell you, is good for multi-player i guess, solo player is SHIT, boring as hell. never ending waves of enemies and you against them wall, reminds me dynasty warriors.
i deleted after 1 hour in the jtag to test it doing the lack of new games to play.

I'm afraid, I have to go with speedgear on this. It's repetitive as hell. The story campaign consists of picking 2 protagonists; Leo or Jack. Each have their unique set of moves. Story is abysmal and in-game conversations are puke-worthy. Gameplay is standard beat-em-up style action. You'll have to earn experience points to unlock main missions and how do you do that? Simple, keep punching down every thing that moves. There are side missions, which you can initiate and let you earn points a bit faster. These are timed events and the better your score, the more you points you earn.
Your skill set pretty much remains the same and combination moves vary. I'm not sure if you unlock more moves further on in the game, but I ain't sticking around to find that out. I completed the first boss fight and it really started to get annoying. My tolerance level is usually very high, but I guess the work pressure has finally managed to cracked that too. So out goes this game, in comes Metal Gear Solid HD collection. Platinum, I R Disappoint!

ill just assume you are talking about the anime style You can often spot a japanese game just by looking at the menu and save system. There are lots of japanese games that doesn't use the anime style tho. Well, this really made me feel like a cpt obvious. But damn man... catherine, lost planet, ace combat, armored core, DMC, Bayonetta and so on
To answer you question I think the newest Armored Core game, at least available in europe and NA is the latest non "hentai" game
just finished the whole game (both characters) in around 6 hrs.
once i got used to its weird design choices, it turned into a very fun game.
some boss fights were pretty fun and the cutscenes are almost as over the top as in
bayonetta.
overall its worth a playthrough, first chapter is boring but afterwards it does get alot better imo.
