In the sequel I would rather have the whole big Gotham City (including Wayne's mansion and batcave) to roam instead of an "Arkham World" with several small Arkham-City sized locations.

I actually felt, that for this type of game the world size wasn't small at all. I never knew I could like a comic book adaptation this much, especially a beat'em'up game - but it was glorious.
In the follow up, I think the Pits will be important - and come on, who believes Spoiler: | that Talia really died? |

i love the aesthetic of that world but i can see why it was canned... i dont think most batman fans would have gotten it or liked it because of the old-timey setting, and the publishers would have been wary of something so 'out there'...
sad, but oh well

Then again, Gotham by Gaslight is regarded as one of the best, maybe even the best Elseworld novel (and the sequel is not too shabby either).

Would have been cool. Shame indeed.
But I'm completely good with this Batman series, much better, than I had expected, before I played them.

There's no Arkham City topic?
Why is that?

Might be a prequel, set in the Silver Age of the comics, concentrates on Batman meeting Joker for the first time
Quote: | The next Batman game is reportedly “highly stylized” and focuses on the first meeting between Batman and The Joker. Actor Mark Hamill has famously voiced Rocksteady’s take on The Joker in Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, but Luke Skywalker has emphatically said he wouldn’t return for another game.
The Silver Age saw the original debut of the Justice League of America. Introducing more characters in a game would coincide with DC Comics’ ambitions to follow in Marvel’s footsteps and eventually have its characters united on the silver screen.
It's expected other super heroes would show up. Metropolis, for example, was mentioned several times in Arkham City, and Rocksteady has been known for hiding secrets in plain sight about its next game. |

A prequel? Seriously? And the Joker again? After the great setup in AC with all those dangling plot threads they go back into the past?
1 and 2 are still amazing.

Yeah I confess that I don't like this idea at all. Well, time will tell.

I am not a big fan of Arkham City. There were much too many guys with almost no plot to them.

Seems more like some kind of spin-off to me. Like the expansions (or whatever those are called) for Assassin's Creed.

If he isn't then I hope they bring in current scribe Scott Snyder for the third game. He is killing it with Detective Comics.
1 and 2 are still amazing.

Paul Dini is the guy that made the scripts for Batman The Animated Series. And Dini wanted to write for the new Bats, but Rocksteady decided not to call him for this Batman game.
Elseworlds Batman. God, the possibilities. Dunno about you, but i always loved the DC's Elseworlds and Marvel's What If's.

I know that Elseworlds are not a popular setting. Mainly because they present darker versions of our beloved heroes. But, that's what makes them so damn interesting.
They really shoul've gone further with the project. Personally, I'd buy it if they nail the atmosphere of the Elseworlds Batmen.
