Watched it, brushed my teeth, went to bed. Nothing to write home about.

I'm giving it 5/10 and that's only because Guild Wars 2 weekend beta starts tommorow so i'm in a good mood.

It's a shame, from the trailers The Raven looked extremely interesting, and turns out that it's nothing special. Will grab it anyway one of these days, I'm still curious. Razz

One of the descriptions of the movie i read about The Raven was "Saw meets Sherlock Holmes". However, imho, it tries to be Saw but it fails and it's as close to being a good Sherlock Holmes movie as Pluto is close to Earth.

It's mediocre at everything. But watchable.

Violent, entertaining, stylish, and with an excellent Mel Gibson. Nice surprise. Smile

This, better than expected Smile

Very good flick, if the action sequences in some scenes used traditional FX it would be an 8.5/10 for me. As it is 7.5 also

Expectations were definitely too high, like always happens in these cases, it was almost...inevitable. Razz I still have to watch it though.

7+ is still a low score I would say. Now I had dreamt Prometheus to be something else too. But people ranking it even lower than that, must see some sci-fi movies I for some reason never got to see. There are better out there sure, but that was the best movie ive ever been dissapointed in. I would rank it above Sunshine and below Event Horizon and a couple of notches before the first 2 Alien - that still makes it pretty great in its genre.

I still havent lost hope that this could be another Kingdom of Heaven on blu-ray.

ok as a sci-fi it's great. it's fantastic. it's wonderful. it has only one major downfall.
 Spoiler:

so... if that wasn't in it... it would've been a great movie. but pretty much every person who does have a problem with prometheus, this is why. Sad I love it. If you ignore the big problem, it's a top notch movie. \o/ the directors cut can only make it better, or completely ruin it. Sad

I listened to some criticisms (podcast) and after hearing about all the atrocious scientific inaccuracies and retarded characters, I'm not sure I can enjoy it fully. I might get it some time and watch it as a satire or something.

biggest disappointing in years Sad i sooo waited for this one since the first 2 were great. But this, this is not even a movie, they dropped the firstperson perspective loosing all the immersion and atmosphere, has no scary moments or not even tension. And more than half of the scenes are pure laughable of how stupid they are. Not even waiting for the last movie now Sad

I completely disagree, I loved it, it was the better of the 3 in my opinion.

The first was good, the second was forgettable and the third one was memorable!

8/10 for me.

Back when alien was made, when blade runner was epic, sci-fi was heavy in the fi. Now... fi has to be really really close to fact. That's stupid. Prometheus is a great sci-fi. Maybe not the best. But it's great. And with the lack of decent sci-fi nowadays you'd be a fool to ignore this movie because some hard core science junkies found almost everything laughable and not at all accurate. Rolling Eyes that's a stupid reason to not like it. the reason I mentioned is the only real reason anyone should have to not like it. Unless they were expecting passion of the christ...

They were the kind of guys who love Star Wars, Bladerunner and other classic more-fi-than-sci movies, and they were clawing their faces off at the scientific retardation of Prometheus. It's like Scott's team either didn't even bother to ask for expert opinion like everybody does, or decided to purposefully go against what they were saying not to do. I'll take my chances with an mkv. Smile

God bless America - what exactly did you guys liked about this movie? waste of time for me really.. i mean we are living it and thinking about it and react to it every day for a few years now.. why would i want to watch a movie about it as well .. ? A documentary of the obvious.. or better yet i could open up the tv and live it myself.. American Psycho was a masterpiece but this.. pfff..

maybe because the hero hated on the retards of america and made the elitist viewer fall in love with it? lol. it's an ok movie. he made better ones though. the message here is simple. it's something a lot of us can relate to and want to do because the zombie nation now is full of assholes and retarded breast implants. Am Psycho... is epic... but this is totally different.

It's good. For it's time. But now, it's a lol fest. Sad Epic shots though. Story you've seen many times. So you won't be surprised in the least. You prolly heard the spoiler in a tv show. Or referenced in something. But yeah, you should see it just so you can say you've seen it. I'd also watch the remake. In colour. Shot for shot. but different actors.
