Downloaded Skidrow Crack, put on top of the FLT crack, no problems/crashes whatsoever. Iso mounted.

Same way I did it, FLT release, played a bit, saved, put these files on and dead..

Deleted the saves (wasn't far in) and no joy.

I'm in exactly the same situation as Mclaneinc. Tried disabling AV and firewall and no luck. Also donwloaded the SKIDROW version and reinstalled and still the same problem.

AV disabled when playing stuff, just used to check before, UAC was turned off long ago, I hate that bastard Smile

Had never played with the DEP but turned it off rebooted and still the same, starts black screen and then crash..

Going to verify the files from D2 of the proper full release match mine just incase the others from the stand alone crack were dodgy.

If need be I'll just get the proper and start again...

EDIT: just saw the post above mine..Very strange, I presume he meant the brand new supposed proper?

Very odd, using my i7 which worked before and unless the hack has a graphic card issue (mines a ATI Radeoon HD 4800) then I'm stumped...

The sole change was those files..

Restart your PC. It happens on the legit version as well. The game will run properly after that Smile


1 and 2 are still amazing.

That's seriously messed up. Oh well, I guess you'd better stick to FL's release then.. it's not like it was causing any serious problems anyhow, emulated CEG or not, the proper is mostly just to bring it in-line with scene "rules"

Skidrow crack crashes for me as well, but I tried the LumaEmu one and it gives much higher performance than the FLT crack (50-60 fps vs. 35-45). However, the closer it gets to 60 fps the more camera stutters so I'm actually better off with lower framerate...

LumaEmu also seems to have unlocked some events that were not available previously.

FLT release worked fine for me, I didn't get very far but it worked fine with what I played. I then downloaded the Skidrow crack and copied the four files in the main directory and now it won't start properly, I just get a black scrren for a few seconds then the "prototype.exe has stopped working" message.

Just cap the framerate at 60 to get rid of the stutters. I am beginning to think that many people didn't have as many problems with mouse controls as I did because their fps never did get too high in the first place (or it remained consistent enough) Smile

In any case, seems that the SR crack wasn't that much of a fix for the larger performance issues. But I do wonder if people with legit copies face the same problems. Perhaps it's still the crack that's at fault?

Well it should be capped at 60 thanks to vsync. Or failing that, should revert to 30 fps. Fucking vsync, how does it work?

Gotta have a look if I can cap it manually in Catalyst...

That's the thing - VSync alone doesn't help. It seems to mute the stutter effect somewhat, but it's still quite there. I used the Afterburner to cap the framerate (with Vsync still on) and it made a huge difference. Mouse works perfectly now.
Well, almost - there seems to be some kind of a weird deceleration effect going right after you stop the mouse, like it snaps back/stabilises just a little. I think it's a feature Very Happy

Tried that SteamEMU by that steam006 fellow and it works and the framerate has improved over FLT if not by a lot. Oh well seems that the game really wants a good CPU. Still it's a lot more playable now than with FLT since drops below 30 have become fewer.

Ehh, where do you limit FPS in Afterburner? I see only voltage, clock speeds etc. I downloaded stable version, do I need the beta?

FPS cap is part of the RivaTuner thing, which in turn is part of the Afterburner's On Screen Display thing Smile
When I launch AB, I have an icon in the tray which is for OSD settings. In there you need to add a profile for Prototype2 and then enable framerate limit in the settings (click on the wrench icon at the top). I am not sure how to enable OSD if it's not there actually. I don't think I did anything and it was there from the start for me Smile

Although now that I think of it, since you are only barely reaching the 60fps (mine fluctuates in the ranges higher than 60), capping at 60 might not help at all. But I guess it's worth a try anyway Smile

Using FLT's release and am almost half way through the campaign having had nil problems with performance being rock-solidly stable and satisfactory.

ahaha, i'ts rather odd isn't it, that there are reports favouring Skiddies crack and those saying FLT's is teh shit. I installed the game a few days ago and haven't even started it up yet, lol

I'm at 40% of campaign, on 2 sessions, with only 1 crash. Performance is flawless.
