When you wear your sunglasses and go out, do you spend the whole time noticing the frames from the corners of your eyes? No... after a while your mind just cancels that stuff out...

i never understood these multi screen setups with giant black bars, why do people think these are awesome? i think they are beyond retarded and look abysmal. spend 1000s of euros/dollars just to have your games separated with big black bars. pure nonsense.
Have you every played using a setup with them black bars? You don't even notice them after awhile.
^ This.
Your eyes won't register these "bars", when playing a game.
“We are committed to providing an excellent Battlefield 3 experience well into the future , past the releases of Aftermath, End Game, and Battlefield 4. DICE is continuing its work on Battlefield 3 alongside Battlefield 4.”
sad to see BF3 gets such a short life span and now they rush to get BF4 out. they should have made BF4 in 3-4 years and in the meantime some other BF spinoff, like bad company or such. meh
Battlefield 4 To Release By March 2014, Confirms EA
Quote:
EA is looking to launch the fourth numbered title in the Battlefield franchise between April 2013 and March 2014.
This announcement comes out of a recent Electronic Arts Q1 FY13 earnings call in which Battlefield 3 sales and subscription numbers were revealed.
According to VideoGamer, EA also touched on their future plans regarding the Battlefield franchise, stating that they are “aiming” for a window of April 2013 to March 2014 to release Battlefield 4.
Keep in mind that access to the Battlefield 4 beta is being handed out through each pre-order of Danger Close’s upcoming shooter, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, set for release this October 23. EA has confirmed that access to the beta will be be granted in fall 2013, meaning a release of Battlefield 4 between April 2013 to August 2013 would be highly unlikely.
The only way I would consider this a good thing right now is that Battlefield 4 is actually a sequel to 2142 or something, with titan mod and stuff. Otherwise EA can go fuck themselves with the nearest broomstick they find in their headquarters.
I just want Bad Company 3, that's all. But it seems that is not going to happen.
Maybe BC3 is already secretly in development and will be released next year, and BF4 the year after that! I mean, the can't stay one year without releasing anything
Only reason I ever bought this game was because I got hold of that coupon that gave me 50% for limited edition. Will never buy an online fps for full value again cause it isnt supported the way I want it to

Buying online shooters at full price these days is indeed absolutely foolish, since you basically get half of the game for 50€. The rest are DLCs and additional stuff removed to cash in. I grabbed my limited for ~26€ too, which was a good price, but spending more money? Nope .
I am not that seriously bothered by this. The times when you could release a game and keep it going for 5+ years are long gone when we are talking about AAA titles from major publishers. It just doesn't work out for them.
Furthermore, BF3 was released in about the same (if not shorter) time frame after BC2 and back then I always felt that BF3 could not come out soon enough. Granted, BF3 has more life to it than BC2 did, especially with all the DLCs still to be released. But still, we are talking about a release that's at the very least a year away after Armored Kill becomes available.
We have lots of people here saying they are getting tired of BF3 and it's not even been a year since release.. even less so if you consider when B2K was released. I don't think things will be that much better in an additional year
I am.
If they didn't bother fixing MOST of the shit that is still wrong with their game while they were just busy with the expansions what will they do now that they're going to start working on BF4?
I think I might just quit online gaming for good, CoD4-> MW2 -> BC2 -> BF3, it was a good run I guess

- SOFLAM/Javelin
- Your class loudout getting out of order after a gunmaster game
- Needing more than 1 RPG/SMAW(only for these two ofc) shot to bring down a jet/chopper
- Spawning in TDM (not really that important on the scale of things but still)
- Preventing fuckers from getting on rooftops/inside usually inaccessible buildings/structures on maps/modes that don't have vehicles
- Call it nitpicking but their loading screens still sport "solider" and "comback"
- Fix glitches like the M26/smoke shells on time, not after 3-4 months
- etc

There's always a team that's working on supporting and fixing a game. They were releasing updates for BC2 even though BF3 was in development for quite a while. It's not like they are starting to work on BF4 just now either, I am pretty sure they have been working on it for a while. Then there's almost a year of DLCs incoming, so I think it's safe to say there's someones still working on BF3.
Whether or not they will actually fix the stuff you want them to fix, is another question, but it's not really dependent on BF4 being in development
Almost every major game developing studio is always working on a next project (if they have the funds for it) while their current one is barely out the door. The only difference in other cases might be your knowledge of it.
Yeah, things like that are odd, I agree. I guess they are taking their "no hotfix" approach a bit too seriously. Not sure about the reasons, maybe they do have some kind of exclusivity agreement with a certain platform.
Considering how they are pushing Origin, it seems outright stupid not to use it for releasing quick patches and fixes to the games when needed. People might actually see some advantages to using the thing. Third party developers use Steam for this quite successfully, and EA is not doing it for their own games on their own platform.
Although things do get a bit more complicated when you need to consider the server-side of things in case of BF3.
I was talking about the advantages of the PC platform. There was nothing stopping them from releasing updates for PC as quickly as needed, especially since Origin was in use by all clients, but instead they chose to roll them out at the same time as console releases.

well, they have done that the very first month with 2 patches released before on pc than the consoles... but now....
