All the physx has to be calculated by cpu and that over use is due to that. I have two cards in my comp just for that, I have 560 ti for normal gpu operations and an old 8800gt for physx calculations and a old cpu amd x2 6000, no slowdowns in any new game all max.
I tried 2 days ago just to see what kind of impact that had on the games and changed my physx calculations to CPU, it was hell i lost almost 30 fps and cpu was full all the time, so there u have it physx. Get another card for physx and u ll be able to play smooth.

Plenty of games use the physx dlls. It doesn't mean they have physx effects. Only a few games exist that actually use physx, like :
mafia2, alice madness returns, mirror's edge, metro 2033, batman arkham asylum.
So no you don't need physx for this game nor many others holy fuck are people really that ignorant nowadays?

Newsflash: Most people don't care about inner workings of games until they face problems with it.

i played OMD1 all through and finished it. I really enjoyed the game, but from OMD2 Im so far little disappointed. All levels build for two, your mate is not present because u play in offline mode, no AI mate present. Your character is talking to invisible/not present mate. It's all akward, looks like a game for two. If you are alone, its not really as enjoyable as the first sequel was.

Yes they use physx dlls and u need to install them before u play so they must have some use in the game don t give me crap that games have physx dll just for nothing.
The games u mentioned were games that are known to have physx fully implemented but some games have just parts that are used in them, so stop annoying people with u re ignorance. Not all games implement directx11 fully but u still need it just for the part that is used in them.
I wonder why one of the issues for this game stuttering and crushing is resolved by this?
#1 Orcs Must Die 2 Crashes/Freezes/Black Screen
The issue may well be related to the GPU. If you are using a Nvidia card, you try out the following steps:
Rightclick on the desktop, select NVIDIA Control Panel
Select Configure Multi-GPU, Surround, PhysX
Select Disable multi-GPU mode
Under PhysX settings, select B or what it says as #2 to secure the game doesn’t take over and forces SLi or multi anyways.
Now, select “Dedicate to PhysX” to resolve the issue.

If you got a good one a c2d will bottleneck it making it run at sub 50% of its capacity.
Get a clue, and take your own advice. You clearly dont know shit. |
That's your argument ? That it bottlenecks lastgen GPUs. Of course it's not for really high-end gaming any more, but that doesn't mean it sucks, dumbo.
With my gtx260 and 4gb RAM I run everything fine. Most of the shit we're playing is console ports anyway. Sure I could enable 16x antialiasing and cry about low fps, but nope. Or do you think I'm gonna buy a new PC to play GTA4,Crysis2, The Witcher 2 with some extra gfx options ?
My current PC purchase ahs been the smartest buy I've ever made. |
You're clueless once more.
A c2d bottlenecks anything from the 4xx series and up in some games like bf3/crysis 2.
AA also is a good thing because if there's a bottleneck your gpu won't produce more frames than your cpu will allow and if you turn it off (along with other intensive gpu pp's like SSAO) you're not gaining any frames .
In other words so you can understand:
If a cpu bottleneck happens game will:
run at 30 fps on low details with a gpu usage of say 40%
run at 30 fps on high details with SSAO/AA with a gpu usage of 99%.
The bottleneck happens at low details in this case because the cpu can't keep up hence why you won't lose frames by increasing graphics options.
About ypur pc being the smartest buy you've ever made, that doesn't say much. Depends on how much you payed for it. It's outdated anyway but if the budget didn't allow more then maybe in your case it's true.
Also you saying games are perfectly playable with good gfx on a e8400, 260 pretty much kills your argument. In intensive games like witcher 2/crysis 2/bf3 if you want to play them on ultra you'll need a 680 + i5. If you want 60 fps that is.

Those games on Ultra settings ?Screw that, I just want to play the best games with awesome graphics (high) and that's what I'm doing.
In The Witcher 2 I saw the best gfx I've ever seen on my own PC. I had microstutters on moving between locations, big whoop, combat was smooth.
I run 90% of games on max gfx and 10% of them on high
Sooo next gen |
Yeah next gen engines were all running on the 680 (Agni's, UE4, Watchdogs, SW 1313), i'm sure you'll run those just as good as the 10% on high if not even better..
not
Not being an asshole, like i said before if that was your budget then that's fine, but don't pretend it's anything more than it is... what's the point? Not like anyone's getting fooled here.
