Chimay Blue - 9%

I bought one of these.. And while it was delightful in some ways, it was soooo heavy in taste that it was almost too much. I could taste so many different things in there.. Yeast, iron, bitterness, hops, malt, sweetness.. All of it. I tried a slightly less heavy beer after that (another belgian kind) and it tasted so utterly bland after that Chimay. Next time I'll try Chimay Red (7%) and Chimay White (8%). The white in particular is interesting due to it's hoppiness. I seem to be in a period where I like the hops and bitterness.

A new fave is:

Good beer. Interestingly enough, I only like drinking those 'fancy' beers when I'm out with friends.

They are somehow easier to drink xD

Plus after you had the taste of Trappist beers, you really see that not all beers are the same Very Happy

Weihenstephaner is one of my favorite beers. Otherwise, I usually drink Gösser or some of the cheaper beers.

You haven't tried the right beer Wink

If you want to try nice beers, you have Tolkiens house on Opatovina, HopDevil in Branimir Centar, there is one cafe that serves quality beer also on Opatovina, or you can go to the House of beer, and buy them at lower prices than in pubs or cafes Wink

You can't really compare them to crap like Ožujsko, Karlovačko, Lowenbrau or such Wink

Holy hell, just tried Brakspear Triple (well, haven't even finished it yet) and damn it's a lovely strong ale:

I absolutely adore it, the taste is immaculate, the after taste is long lasting and very very pleasant.

Now I "only" have 2 Duvel strong (8.5%) blonde ale in the fridge (well, soon only one Razz )
