Count me in for a squad, this game has got to be better with proper teamplay. Although it's probably also a good idea to determine what server region people are planning to play on (EU or US), cause that might affect the size of the squad in those regions.
I'm kind of surprised that the pirates on this forum are choosing to play for the dictatorial militaristic regime, as opposed to the terrorist/pirates of the New Conglomerate. And seriously, choosing a faction on colors? Are people really that superficial, that they can't ever see themselves play in purple team colors, for instance?

I think we can assume servers are gonna be EU. I don't get the best pings from them but I'm willing to sacrifice a good ping for proper teamplay.

Are you kidding? The NC are puppets of corporate interest that use "liberty and freedom" as slogans to keep the masses quiet. 
But seriously.
All factions have their ideological weaknesses. The TR is a totalitarian dictatorship, the VS is a technocracy with borderline religious worship of technology (and possible alien influence to use them as puppets), and the NC are jingoistic rebels who's leaders are controlled by corporate interest. None of then can claim the moral high ground so the only way to really chose is by looks and feel.
For me, the color scheme, design and fast shooting guns of the TR is just perfect.

Aah, the human psyche is interesting. All you have to do is arbitrarily divide people into groups (like factions in a video game) and they will automatically start associating with their own group and hating the others. Though I have to admit the Barney in high heels is pretty hilarious.
I think the Vanu has the most unique and interesting design, but it's the alien tech that really puts me off from playing them. Those energy weapons have such a weak feel to them. I like weapons with a real punch to them, which is why I'm gravitating towards NC.

Yea i dont like the sound scheme either..but their scopes are definitely very good.

I'm personally planning to play VS, but I would join a beta outfit regardless of faction.
I'm pretty sure I saw a screenshot of one of the devs' accounts where multiple soldiers could be selected, from different factions. Unless this is developer only (which I doubt), this means that one can create multiple soldiers for multiple factions, each with their own experience progression. This enables different styles of play for each soldier as well, and would be the most logical course of action for the game as well IMO.
