I think they have implemented sites of their own which will top the google list if you are remotely close to what you're needing when searching.

I left this download overnight and it was 21GB and still dowloading after it initially said it was 15GB. There was a problem with hashing files from the server and some corrupt data that it wanted to repair, so I deleted some files as per funcom forum, but it still wanted to dowload a further 7GB. There were further problems and wanting to dowload yet another 7GB, so in the end I deleted the whole folder and now I just won't bother. If they can't get this part right, there really is no hope. Funcoms poor reputation goes before them and I have better things to do than fuck about with their crappy software. What a waste of a 35GB dowload. Fuck 'em!

tywym, if you read from top of page had similar stuff. The 15GB is just a lie, it takes 33.6GB installed on mine. Never had so much trouble on installer, doesn't indeed make you want to play the game.
Now that I've tested it seems quite nice on GFX, but runs quite bad. Story might be ok, but seemed too much blaablaa and too little action on start. Combat seemed fine when I finally got there, but the controls are horrid. Need to hold right mouse constanty to turn and no way to aim. Left button is useless, just turn camera around (well good for screenshots) and select enemy (but tab already selects closest).
Shooting/abilities done with 1-0 buttons, with friendlies around and enemy all around you, trying to hit those without aim too was just frustrating and less fun. Well at least there was button 4 mapped to ability one that was shotgun on first mission. A & D to srafe helped too, they were just turn as default.
Now if rigth mouse was toggle freelook/use menu, it would be muuuch easier and more like other games. That would make selecting friendlies for healing harder, but already hard anough if you can't kill the monsters pounding you with the controls what they are. Like others have said, might play it on F2P, but not worth the money.

all these problems here i see lol, installed first time flawless, downloaded no issues, no sound? eh, sound never a problem here not even with my 7.1 setup.
Now on the no toggle for right click look and move around, yes I dont like that either but its not a big deal, id like it changed though for more in line with other mmo feel of control.

This game is a lot better since the Beta. Couldn't stand the combat before but now it's good.
I'm starting to get into the world and everything, it's pretty damn unique and cool.
Not sure about the montly cost though. That + item shop if i'd ever want to buy something seems a bit over the top.
Oh and graphics are damn nice with everything on max (except DX 11 type of AA i believe, that isnt implemented yet?? because i couldn't enable it).

driver related issues with the new AA types, and really do u need it? come on, I am still looking at this new fandangled stuff and thinking while im playing I really see no difference or concern at 1920 res.. although FXAA works or with an injector for SMAA is it? It still was nice to all look at regardless...
I had read they fixed some of the fusang issues some get with lag when players meet eachother even one on one, but to me its not much improvement in last patch at all, i can do the open area world and all npc with particles etc fine but pvp its a different matter on fusang.. the battlegrounds even smaller are much better..
I cant get why its like it is, but I guess it must be due to network coding or something not gelling well for some. Its a shame because I would like to hammer that pvp for tokens etc but its just not enjoyable with it like that for me.

GeForce 304.79 Beta 64-bit --
New in 304.79 Drivers:
Adds support for NVIDIA TXAA
NVIDIA TXAA is new film-style anti-aliasing technique designed specifically to reduce temporal aliasing (crawling and flickering in motion) through a combination of hardware AA, custom CG film style AA resolve, and a temporal filter. The Secret World is the first game to support TXAA (support will be enabled in an upcoming patch). TXAA is supported on GeForce GTX 600-series Kepler-based GPUs.

I know! Metacritic it's a plague for this world. I mean, there are lot of things there that fared far better than that site lead you to believe. Hell, even cult movies or games fared poorly in the eyes of Metacritic.

Yep, it's a plague and it's causing irreparable harm to the industry as long as idiotic publishers keep using it as a benchmark and gauge.

ffs. they should not blame metacritic, IF they dont offer a free trial of the game.
beta was shitty, but i'm willing to give it another try. how ? i cannot (unless i pay 50$). and because of that i will go visit metacritic/eurogamer/whatever to see what normal users say about it. not payed redactors.
why blame metacritic/whatever, when is your fault for not providing a way for people to see what a great game you have ?

Mate, we are not talking about the game failing. Read carefully: the game sells better than expected. The friggin' stock is down, as the review scores at Metacritic are low - that's what they are saying. I mean the game is making a profit, but the stock is going down, because the shareholders (people that know jack about games) look on Metacritic and see a failure, while the game is actually making a profit. How fragged up is that?!
And you have stuff like that all over: Obsidian not being able to get their bonus because it didn't reach 85 Metacritic score, companies hiring personnel that have worked on at least 1 game that had 90 score on Metacritic....
That's what are we talking here, mainly.

how many mmo's have trial right from the start ? right ... none (i am sure someone gives me some shady example lol, but we all know this to be true).
Them now offering a 3 day trial, so close after release, is probably faster then any other mmo so far (that wasn't failing badly like swtor haha).
