Both GOW1 and GOW2 are perfectly playable on 2500k@default with 3x internal. And i mean really perfect, fps did not drop even to 59...60 constant all the time.

By the way, does anyone know good Dolphin revisions for Metroid Prime and the GC Resident Evil games? (Besides 4, that one has a good PC version after modding the graphics and stuff)

Everything after r7483(which i still use because is last revision that support game profiles in plugin) will work perfect. You just need a good PC.

This doesn't change much for people who use regularly updated svn snapshots, but that's some nice milestone there.

Ahhhh, the time goes by...

The PCSX2 executable has been built and tested with PGO optimizations enabled so it will be an extra 10% faster over regular SVN builds.

Yes. Dolphin use almost only the CPU. I heve never see gpu load more than 50% on my old 8800gts....
PCSX2 from other side is much much more GPU demanding.

well,I tested the first game about year a go on Dolphin and it worked quite well, the second game shold be as well, never finished them thoough(both of them were Gamecube versions) as for the 3rd and Other M,as long you have good CPU(dual core and high GHz(3000 to 4000 clocked) its should work fine,I think, dolphin really improved since last time I checked, you can find lots of youtube vidoes about it

What are your specs? I haven't played through the entire game but Metroid Prime 1 (from the Metroid Prime Trilogy) seems to run full speed for me. I have an old Q6600 OC'ed to 3.2Ghz with 6GB of RAM. I tested the game using Dolphin 3.0-159 x64 with vBeam Emulation enabled.

Btw, vBeam Emulation seems to work wonders for the Metroid Prime Trilogy, it boosted my performance of the MP1 intro from 59% to 100%.

Metroid Prime works fine in Dolphin with a M&K. I suppose you could also use a 360 pad if you wanted.

I'm going to go ahead and call bullshit on that. GoW1 is 60-locked at 3x internal on my i5-2500k ... but only running at 4Ghz and above. Even GoW2 doesn't run at 60. So claiming that an i5 "at default" will run 60 all the time is simply not true, not on my end at least Smile Native res, yes probably, but 2/3x internal? No chance.

Everything, including GOW, runs @ stable 60 fps on a simple Phenom X4 955. The emulator has really come a long way.

I've been using the 0.9.9 SVN stuff for ages, so the 1.0.0 release is more of the same for me, but I still remember how hard it was to run a LOT of games a couple years back .. now it really is fantastic. Even the few games that have issues (such as GoW and its lack of shadows) are worth playing on the emulator just for the enhancements alone.

I was so glad when gabest fixed the SPS and random text corruption/slowdown in WildARMS ACF, now I check the emulator SVN every day - hoping that Snowblind games have been fixed too Very Happy

~edit~

NOWAI.

My sincere apologies mroussev! When I installed 1.0.0, for some reason it had MTVU disabled (the 3+ core MicroVU offloading) even though I had it enabled in all previous SVN releases -- well that was causing the perf-drop in GoW2. I checked and re-enabled it.. and...;

Yeah, it requires an extremely powerful PC to push playable framerate but that pales in comparison to the broken view distance Sad

As far as I'm aware, those graphic bugs have been fixed in the newest revisions of PCSX2 + gsDX. The few reports on PCSX2 forums corroborate that too.

March/Junes 2012 gameplay vids, looks pretty good.

Hehe..No problem, emulators are tricky sometimes.I was just starting to write somthing about your previos post and i saw this Very Happy .
When i wrote previous, i was talking about r5338(havent tested 1.0 yet).Other settings- DX10 Gsdx, AVX, 3x native,speedhacks- only the one with checkbox, everything else on default.
Even tried to load some big levels and boss battles from my previous beat of the games and everything is rock solid 60fps.(2500k ,default+turbo, 8800gts512mb)

And to be honest,i played lots of ps2 games, and GOW1/2 are really not hardware demanding games at all.

Yeah, that was entirely my own fault for not checking the speedhacks. It's strange because, like I said, I've been running SVN for years now and was current (I use Orthis' buildbot pretty regularly) up until 1.0.0 release which is only build 5350. MVTU has always been enabled, ever since it was introduced, so I really don't know why it was disabled on 1.0.0 install.

Ah well, at least it's working -- and heh, your post made me go and check it myself grinhurt

I recomend to not use sliders speedhacks with that cpu. I dont know why,but before, when i have slow cpu(x3 435) speedhacks helped a lot. But now, when i try to boost performance much(on some games i have some difficult even with 2500k,Shaddow of Colossus for example) ,speedhacks makes things a lot worse. Cant understand why. Only checkboxs speedhacks helps, sliders only fucked up things. From the otehr side dont need them with that cpu Very Happy

No problems with last revisoins. My brother plays them now ,(1,2, and 3) and they are perfect. Only First game need specific revision to run, because of some gameplay issue.

Yup, I never use Cycle Stealing (the sliders) as it not only breaks a lot of games, but also often cripples performance whilst showing invalid framerates. Just check-box hacks for me Smile
