rocksteady is owned by wb. wb doesn't do marvel. Sad so it'd have to be a huge deal for both. Beenox did ok with their 4 spidey game. It was repetitive, but it was a fun beat em up. And even though people seem to expect so much from a spidey game... not all are awful. They have mixed bits of greatness overshadowed by shit. And this one seems to have great bits from all, but still doesn't reach the epic mark.

I haven't played any of the Spiderman games after sm3. Even if Rocksteady doesn't do it the only other developers that know how to do a superhero game is Raven. As shit as xmen origins was Wolverine was still a fun game. Ultimate alliance was epic too

Delayed, at least the Steam version that is, though I think the retail is Steamworks, so I doubt we'll see a release. Sad

pfff...so the whole delay thing was meant for Steam version only???

Well, if it is dispatched by Amazon I guess we can expect a release soon.

I can see the X360 and PS3 versions but I can't find anything about a PC version, perhaps you saw those?

EDIT: Aha.

EDIT: Strange that it's in stock and available though but maybe the delay notice came to late so the various stores now started selling it?
(I mean if it's really Steamworks and non-functional until made available via Steam.)

From official forums:

In Czech republic it can be bought from retailers from today it has cd-key to Steam but i dunno if it can be activated before 10th August

Hmmmm, maybe it is a similar case to Postal 3 or whatnot? You could activate the game on Steam, but it technically it wasn't available for purchase ON STEAM until a long time later...

Huh, the steam registry for the game was updated and the additional DLC (which were not there before) appeared today though:

I'm not sure if the DLCs will be for free and included in the PC version though.

Can't find a so called "subscription" for 212580 and that app listing also lacks the data, binaries and localization additions, having that pre-order up will probably be what you'll get directed to after registering the key I would guess.
(So it's added as a pre-order and not the actual game, I'm not too good at explaining how Steam works with these type of things but basically you get a subscription which contains the appID which dictate what your account has access to, usually it's a pre-order separate listing such as 212589 instead of 212580 so you can't go and just do steam://install/ on the game, not sure how to best explain it but I think that gives a sort of overview, I'm probably a bit off with some of the info though.)

Ah I see, though I checked via the registry viewer and that's what I meant with how there's still not much available other than a basic listing of the game (No pre-order subscription or such.) but as you said it was added yesterday so they will likely add the rest of the data shortly, maybe today even now that the retail version is out they kinda have to I guess. Smile
(If they don't the game won't be playable at all if the retail version indeed uses Steamworks.)

Yeah, as I said previously, maybe it is a similar case to Postal 3, where you could buy the Steam key from Running With Scissors and activate it and PLAY it on Steam, but it technically wasn't available for purchase ON STEAM until much later...

Perhaps, it would at least seem that it's not using Steam judging by the NFO.

Either it's junk or it's Civ5 repackaged I would guess.
(Never thought of looking into the exe data like that, never tried the setup program though, was trying to extract the data from it.)
