A Russian "Steam Rip" copy has been floating around for a few hours. Just checked the protection, it's CEG + Steam, shouldn't take a while to get fixed (if the right people try to do it Very Happy).

If you have trouble finding it, it's on the Chinese sites as well.

According to many comments, in some countries you can buy the retail release and it's tied to Steam, and people are already playing. So far it seems it's a decent port, though there are some crashes/control issues. Maybe that's why you can't buy it on Steam yet.

After goofing around, I managed to get the launcher running, seems pretty flexible, but everything is in Russian. Messing with registry entries regarding the language didn't help either.

Edit: Here's the English launcher:

One more edit: Got the game running, but it's Russian only. Crashes after a while, but dialog/menus are in Russian. Guess we'd have to wait for an English version. Sad

The hard copy version seems to be out but the Steam version is delayed.

But from what I've read here and there, the game suffers from crashes and bugs.

How irresponsible can developers be?I mean seriously, how can they let it be?Don't they even test for at least one time before the release?Whenever a interviewer ask for beta testing they always say "yeah we got 200 men back there and we're fiixing every errors lol wut " ohh that figures...

yep, it is irresponsible.

And so is the latest trend delaying and releasing bad ass ports...

A shame really.

I ordered the retail PC version in a local shop(English! Very Happy) , it should arrive tomorrow or on Tuesday, so I'll give you my impressions if the game isn't cracked by then.

I was expecting a cracked release these days. I want to play something new because all I've been doing lately is replaying games I've already finished. Plus, I need something to take my mind off Darksiders 2 and Sleeping Dogs until they show up.

Don't know if legit...

Edit: It's the Russian version. Plus, there seem to be crack issues consisting of constant crashes.

All the files are provided for the game to work via GreenLuma or similar Steam "emulator" and it will still crash very often so it's not a crack problem.

That and CEG might be causing some bugs since it's customized against another hardware setup.
(But the game was delayed for a reason, no doubt these stability problems are part of that decision.)

I've been watching some gameplay videos on the tube and it does seem to be quite fun, nothing impressive/innovative of course but better than I expected. I hope it will be more various that the other open ended Spiderman games that I've played in the past. Razz

I'd hoped it'd have been put out before D2/Sleeping Dogs so I could just fill up the time till then, but, alas... Sad

Seems to work, unsure what it does but it probably patched the exe and likely the file that is responsible for text localization, funny note in it too. Very Happy

It seems the game is locked to 30 FPS, though that might be because I enabled V-sync, I'll check in a sec if there's a lock.

Here are some screenshots from the very beginning of the game:

Hm, the game is not actually locked to 30 FPS, it's just that is STRUGGLES to do 30 FPS on my machine

No wonder they decided to push back the release on Steam.

EDIT: After I turned of AA, DOF and Motion Blur, it's steady 60, wtf Laughing

It seems the game is not optimized fully, I hope they make a patch quickly because the game is fun.

To be fair, the screens you posted look very detailed. I can understand why it would struggle (uinless you have a beast over there).

GeForce 460 1 GB, i5 2.66 GHz, 4 gig RAM.

And yes, while it looks quite detailed, it still isn't optimized. Sleeping Dogs runs 60 FPS 99% of the time on max settings, as well as Batman: Arkham City etc.

By the way, played about 2 hours and I'm loving the game so far. Very Happy

This game to Spidey is what Batman: Arkham City was to Batman. Definitely the best Spidey game I've ever played, I'm loving the combat system. Very Happy

i hope they will wait for steam release date Sad this retail version released so far is heavily buggy and since scene cracks CEG only once lately - I would rather see crack for fixed version

There was a update released from what I've read, seems pretty stable now according to various reports about the game but it can still crash on occasion so it's not fully fixed either.
(Though the version released to the net doesn't have that update and the crack itself is a bit flaky or what the term is.)
