Is the volume settings correct?

Is the speaker device output or what to call it, anyway the sound device in the control panel, it's properties for max channels and audio frequency, for compatibility 16-bit 44100 should be used but I've never noticed any problems until you go above 48000, bit doesn't seem to matter so you can use 24 if you want and it's gotten better but some games still get issues with this.

Also it's sort-of upscales and doesn't really improve audio quality if you keep increasing it, game audio is already recorded at a certain setting and then compressed as a certain format so audio quality is often pretty average.
(Of course with the average PC speakers it won't sound any different even with a dedicated soundcard to most people, high-end audio equipment can likely pick this up far better but that's pretty expensive stuff.)

EDIT: Also are you using some localization the game doesn't have the audio files for?

Yeah the fourteen in-game unlocks will be there with a modified patch, well thirteen as one is the season pass thing.

The files (DLC folder) is just text for version number and name.

EDIT: Modified exe / patches exe, not a actual patch, whoops.

Are these really the visuals that shipped with the game..? Even on legitimate copies? They're terrible! Much, much worse than the first game. Low-res textures, blocky shadows and aliasing up the wazoo. It's really bad Neutral The game is great but damn these visuals -- and the keyboard controls are hideous, so I'm using the PS3 pad on this one.. which is strange as I loved the keyboard/mouse on DS1.

I just finished the cathedral (Well Tiamat) in Darksiders 1 (Because I need to complete that one first, hell that location was far bigger than I thought and there's four other such bosses left and that's just one area of the game. Crying or Very sad ) and I thought that location looked great with the various effects in place but also quite detailed characters.

I'm past the first "training" level of Darksiders 2 and I didn't even think about the shadows, probably never noticed them either but otherwise it looks fairly similar though some textures are clearly very blurry.
(Don't get too close to the environment and it looks OK, characters are very detailed even if the texture resolution is a bit low, unsure if it's worse than the first game, maybe.)

EDIT: Oh uups you can't compare files either as it's spread differently, anyway Darksiders 1 is 9.6 GB and Darksiders 2 is 5.4 GB or such.
(But Darksiders 2 has barely no movie files which discounts about 3.2 GB of data.)

EDIT: Even then it doesn't work to compare as Darksiders 2 only has one localization (Wasn't it 14 GB with all of them?) and Darksiders 1 is multi-5 or so.
(If it was just a single texture archive that could work but the art/media is packed together in a 1.7 GB file in Darksiders 2 and mostly located in a 880 MB file in Darksiders 1 yet there's tons of other files for each separate object in the other 650 or so files for it.)

What can I do to improve the gfx? it looks so bad. Does FXAA work? Have you been messing around with the config, jb?

It's as locked as in the first game so there's nothing that can be done for now, I only added SMAA as a form of anti-aliasing.
(16x AF is also forced via drivers but I nearly always use that.)

Sorry bud, the key bindings were ghastly, I'm using a pad and for that it's "Left Bumper + face button to bind"

No 3D vison <3 for this game Sad The first looked quite good and I played nearly the whole game in 3D

The keys on keyboard seem the same as the first, just they aren't customisable in this.

i changed the lauch/discharge key, now it does'nt work anymore and i'm stuck where you have to launch a bomb to a mechanism.

There's a menu in the i/o character screens looking like a little X-Box controller, that should allow altering key bindings.
(Was mentioned earlier by someone else, I kinda forgot about it after the first map of the game.)

Um, okay.. is it just me or is vsync suddenly disabled when you use the inject_FXAA settings? Neutral It worked just fine before I added the direct3d9.dll and shaders, now it's not working and the game is running 100-400fps causing my card to go apeshit grinhurt

Gonna try forcing via nVCPL.

Yup, forcing vsync works. It's weird how the in-game option stopped working when using the FXAA injector.

I can't get SMAA to work. Doesn't it work just like FXAA? Just place files in gamefolder and hit "pause"?

Holy crap...just came out of the game and noticed GPU temp at 103!!! I have the EVGA fan speed on 90%....is this a driver issue?

I don't know about using FXAA (will try that later). But I have vsync enabled and I still notice ugly tearing. I'm going to give a try to forcing vsync through Inspector.

well then this is very strange...took vsync off and game is now 86 degrees....might try a beta driver...thanks for the replies!!
