Deep Silver’s announced a Dead Island sequel, subtitled Riptide.

Coming again from Techland, it’ll launch on PC and consoles.

No details on the story or timeline was given for its release, though. Deep Silver’s promised more information for sometime this summer.

The original Dead Island launched last September on PS3, 360 and PC.

Another instabuy if it launches this year (alongside borderlands2 Razz)

I hope for some real improvements in gameplay and graphics,to feeli lilke new game. Not like we see from last few years,a successful first game and than 2nd and so no parts that are just like DLC or expansion with just new mission ,nothing more...

Tbh, we should start deleting crappy pc games section topics about new games with no proper layout Rolling Eyes

Seems like people just "want to be first" in creating the topic, rather then following the "rules" when creating the topic.

It's even funnier if you open threads from couple of years back where it says "too lazy for proper template, will create one when I'm back from work" and there is still no proper template Laughing

Ignoring the typical German censorship foolishness .... I want this game! I haven't even heard anything about it yet and I still want it Very Happy Dead Island was a fabulous game and MOAR content is most certainly not a bad thing Smile

If they manage to iron out the few things that didn't work in the original game we'll have a masterpiece. I hope they take inspiration from the modding scene, some great stuff has been released which has made everything much more enjoyable.

Whooaaaa... was the first game any good? I played for awhile and the whole thing felt clunky and boring. Have I made a mistake?!

I just remember running around a beach or something and all my weapons kept breaking and the gameplay was sloppy and I think I drove a car somewhere and that kinda' sucked too...

I hope they make the "analog combat" work with mouse this time around. There was no reason for it not to. Was that ever modded/patched in?

Oh! And a better story please! I'm not asking for a best-seller just something decent.

I was left with a similar impression too at first, but then I installed some mods (Director's cut with proper FOV + Fxaa injector), kept playing and I found it very entertaining. Not flawless of course, but better than I expected.

Maybe it's time I replay the game then, but my backlog is already ginormous. Too many games, not enough time.

Can you guys recommend some great mods for Dead Island? I pre-ordered the game actually, being so anticipated for it and got bored after three hours.

you had to enable key filtering because your wasd keys were treated like a gamepad and for some reason made your game stutter when you pressed 2 of them at the same time

You've played a different game.

Naw, he's right.. the keyboard controls have some serious issues and it wasn't just with pressing multiple directions at once, the keyboard actually registered rapid inputs when you held down the button which caused stuttering when moving. DeadIslandHelper was released to fix some of the crazy broken shit with the game.. including the keyboard issue.
