I don't know, but it definitely feels like there's a few (hundred) cutscenes and emails missing. You go from one mission to another, with orders and objectives that came from nowhere, it's bizarre.

Some dumbasses are "packing" the iamawesome/p2p release without any sort of crack, that's what's happening. lol wut

Just find the first crack available, copy it over, start the game and exit (just to be sure), grab the 28mb 1.4 update/crack and follow the instructions.
My guess is that the 28mb update doesn't touch some files that would only be replaced by the ones included on the first crack so it probably only overwrites "legit" files.

At least it's what I had to do to get the game running.

EDIT: dat menu music... Me Gusta

heh, this actually worked for me too. No idea what's up with the usenet version that's been uploaded.

<RefreshRateNumerator>211440000</RefreshRateNumerator>
<RefreshRateDenominator>2936608</RefreshRateDenominator>

My montor is 60hz but the only option for me is 72hz.

So are all the people experiencing high temps running AA and AO maxed out? I'm running a pair of 560Tis in SLI (although with no profile it's only using one card) and it sits around 60C with those on normal.

Legit. Missions just seem to skip over necessary setup/background info. There are a number of instances concerning new characters that you apparently know just appearing, relationships between certain characters that were previously not even hinted at, etc.

Lol @ the stats. Longest play session is 4 1/2 days. People swimming twice as long as riding in taxis is interesting. Although they would probably get used more if you could hail them and get in without accidentally hijacking them more consistently.

Dunno what the keys are on M/KB, but they did tweak it in a patch to make it easier. With a controller the right stick moves the pins, then you lock them in place with the left stick when they turn green.

It's not really split second. Attacks are telegraphed plain as day. The only thing that does require some degree of timing is the QTEs for certain special attacks some enemies do, like grapplers.

Yep, seems like I've hit a game-breaking bug. Can't lock-pick the door. I move the pins with the W/S keys up and down and lock them in place with the right mouse button. But the latter part doesn't work - I see the indication, but the mouse button seems inactive. Sad

It took me some time to realize how to do it but here it is :

Use the up arrow on your keyboard to move the lock pick, and as soon as it gets green press the left arrow and it will lock it in that position you'll get the hang of it after that, hope it helps.

Yeah I mentioned that earlier, it seems the exe is version 1.3 but it doesn't matter much since the only real difference is that 1.4 attempts to solve a bug (It doesn't occur for everyone, seems rather rare.) where the settings were not properly saved so you are not missing anything important. Smile

I'll have to disagree on you with that one. For me it's pretty much split second, and it doesn't help when you're fighting 5 people at the same time.

Try 10 or 15 people, with knives and cleavers, there's some pretty big brawls you can get into even outside the story missions but those are challenging on their own.
(Guns are quite dangerous for example even if a bit rare, shootouts can get quite hectic.)

EDIT: For lockpicking I just move the mouse up and down and click when the icon turns green, takes a few seconds at most. Smile
(For the "hacking" I just use 0, 1, 2, 3 and then 4, 5, 6, 7 and correct as needed, never fails and for the cracking just rotate the dial slowly and check when it turns green.)

(These mini-game are pretty easy outside of enforced time limits or during combat.)

Well, that exact part was bugged on me. It prompt me that lock-picking was done by moving the mouse up and down, but the movement itself was inactive.

Ah I see, how strange.
(You can't rebing mouse movement after all, unless it tried to use a controller input or some such, no doubt there are some bugs left for the developers to fix.)

EDIT: Ha ha, well it wasn't a very difficult question to answer. Smile

Nice to see this new protection taken down, will probably be quite useful for later game releases. Smile
(Now that other groups also can just take these fixed files and reverse them to see how it was done.)

5 is easy mode. It doesn't start to get interesting until you have like a dozen or so guys with melee weapons like JBeckman suggested. Even then the combat is very simple. Enemies mostly attack one at a time, and attacks are telegraphed with the whole guy turning red (aside from a few special attacks like grapplers use).

In combat - keep mobile, don't get backed into corners, focus on countering, use grapples + environment for quick kills. Out of combat - learn some extra attacks by collecting jade statues, practice against the different enemy types at the martial arts school.
