gfwl is shit indeed, but i was lucky enough to never have issues with it. its just so inferior to any other overlay client its just sad.
just compare chatting over steam to gfwl chat

The only "problem" I've ever had was that dumb "you need to exit the game so i can update this shiet" stuff.
And that isn't a problem per se, just really REALLY shitty design.

yep, its just so bad at even the simplest activities. and lets not forget the majot fuckup in the past when you could use one gfwl cd key with like all of their games
my gta 4 cd key was great for halo 2, steert fighter 4 online, and numerous others

I would guess it'll at least be available on the net tomorrow (There's already a version available but it's pretty slow due to the authors limited upload speed.) but a actual crack might take until the official release day on Friday (Depends on regional time zone differences.) at the earliest if it's indeed using ZDP.
(And as a LIVE title it probably will use that form of protection.)

You can't put DRM/SecuROM on a GFWL executable due to GFWL signing, the loader probably has SecuROM though (the loader is ZDP protected).

Ah so that's how it is, then I understand a bit better, yeah some of the earlier GFWL titles had this procedure with using a loader exe with some protection on it (Often SecuROM) and then the game exe relying on that, it's not ideal though as those often simply had the loader requirement bypassed but things might be different with these later LIVE games.

So the game's protection isnt as hard as Sleeping Dogs and we can wait for a fast release?

oh, dark souls will be a nerve wrecking experience after something as easy as darksiders 2, you wont be bored even for a moment.
imo it is also the best survival horror game of this gen while being an rpg, with your hands sweating when youre going down a dark staircase while keeping your shield up or your heart racing while trying to survive the onslaught of a boss with only 10% hp left; the immersion is incredible.
this is the product of a thick atmosphere, high difficulty and almost complete lack of music,
with every finished boss battle giving a sense of accomplishment and relief much higher than that of finishing any other modern game.
after beating dark souls the first time, i had a wank and went to sleep.

the game exe isn't protected, only the loader, so a crack should be possible once the upload is finished (jesus, australia has terrible internet)

What is the average download completion on that anyway (BitGamer or where it was, it's a invite only site so it probably doesn't matter if I mention it.) it's been going for three days now and the post I read said something about ~55% or so complete with the author uploading at around 50 KB/s on average.
