Yeah I've seen it mirrored on a few public sites but it still says "uploading.." now I guess I know what all those are waiting for. Very Happy
(And I guess - even if it's not confirmed - that it's going to use ZDP so it can't really be used for much other than the install procedure since one can't acquire the actual game exe until the 24th or what regional times it goes after.)

JB do you think we could use the install directory as a "preload"?

Yeah sure, the disc image if it's using ZDP is the full game but a encoded exe file is used with the ZDP exe as a sort of online timer which if started when met that time will decode the ZDP file to the normal exe, all that is needed at that point (Or well, whenever the normal exe would be available.) is to use a offline profile unless it's also using some other form of protection in addition to LIVE.

I'm probably not explaining it well enough but all you would need is to replace the ZDP "launcher" with the game exe and it would work. Smile

I was more talking about Steam I don't know if GFWL disc games have the same hashes as the digital ones, I'm trying to save time with the download.

money? Reaction i havent paid for a video game since i got burned by idiotic preorders such as AvP and far cry 2 Laughing my whole steam account since then is built on coal farming, valve beta trading and ign key exploitiation Devil Troll

the only reason for getting this legit is MP. it will probably be playeable with the release, but i prefer day one hassle free online experience.

just compare chatting over steam to gfwl chat Laughing

The only "problem" I've ever had was that dumb "you need to exit the game so i can update this shiet" stuff.

And that isn't a problem per se, just really REALLY shitty design. Razz

yep, its just so bad at even the simplest activities. and lets not forget the majot fuckup in the past when you could use one gfwl cd key with like all of their games Cool Face

my gta 4 cd key was great for halo 2, steert fighter 4 online, and numerous others Laughing

I've never had any gameplay issues with GfWL, but then.. I don't play online so I have no experience with lag or disconnects or anything like that, the only major issue I ever had was being locked out of signing in for over three months ... the damned thing kept telling me Live wasn't available in my region Rolling Eyes

Morons.

Still, two "The Club" keys and two "Batman Arkham Asylum" keys managed to net me free activations for every GfWL title out there --- until MS locked the exploit down with GfWL 3.0 Laughing

I would guess it'll at least be available on the net tomorrow (There's already a version available but it's pretty slow due to the authors limited upload speed.) but a actual crack might take until the official release day on Friday (Depends on regional time zone differences.) at the earliest if it's indeed using ZDP.
(And as a LIVE title it probably will use that form of protection.)

Well that's good I guess (The game exe is called data? interesting.) changes things. Smile
(Could still use something like SecuROM I guess but I don't have the game so I can't check, would be funny if all it took was using a offline profile.)

You can't put DRM/SecuROM on a GFWL executable due to GFWL signing, the loader probably has SecuROM though (the loader is ZDP protected).

Ah so that's how it is, then I understand a bit better, yeah some of the earlier GFWL titles had this procedure with using a loader exe with some protection on it (Often SecuROM) and then the game exe relying on that, it's not ideal though as those often simply had the loader requirement bypassed but things might be different with these later LIVE games.

Yes, you can thank the use of GWFL for that. Due to GFWL you can't due nasty DRM on game executable. Smile

oh, dark souls will be a nerve wrecking experience after something as easy as darksiders 2, you wont be bored even for a moment.
imo it is also the best survival horror game of this gen while being an rpg, with your hands sweating when youre going down a dark staircase while keeping your shield up or your heart racing while trying to survive the onslaught of a boss with only 10% hp left; the immersion is incredible.
this is the product of a thick atmosphere, high difficulty and almost complete lack of music,
with every finished boss battle giving a sense of accomplishment and relief much higher than that of finishing any other modern game.
after beating dark souls the first time, i had a wank and went to sleep.

the game exe isn't protected, only the loader, so a crack should be possible once the upload is finished (jesus, australia has terrible internet)

What is the average download completion on that anyway (BitGamer or where it was, it's a invite only site so it probably doesn't matter if I mention it.) it's been going for three days now and the post I read said something about ~55% or so complete with the author uploading at around 50 KB/s on average.
