this crack works

Man speaks the truth. PROPER crack for 1.4 that came out from 3DM just today or yesterday finally works for me, after having tried every possible combination of release and patch and crack to get the game past the white screen pop-up crash.

Now I'm finally in the game, loading times take just seconds. Only issue is, can't get the game to go full-screen for some reason. But that's minor compared to me being able to finally play the damn game!

I don't want to get my hopes up, but I can't wait to try it tonight! weee

I'd like to chime in on this and say that the fixed 3dm crack worked for me too. I used my legit installed folder and applied the crack and it launched no problem.

Settings seem to save as well since I was able to enable the HD texture pack on and off accordingly.

Well, I put this over the game and the camera is much better (although the spring while moving is still there which is annoying) and the game runs a bit better. I get an average of 43 fps while I only got 39 before.

i got my best benchmark run ever after applying the new patch as well. title screen also says 1.4 now Razz

Whereabouts on the title screen does it display the version number, please? I've got it legit on Steam and there's absolutely nothing onscreen anywhere that says what version it is.

True but not has much as this. I mean SD pretty much has it all. Sex , violence , drugs , vulgar language , blood ect.

I don't remember a SE jrpg being as mature as this but then again i haven't played them all. The point is moot anyway since they are only publishers for SD Smile

Does 1.4 fix the shaky camera when driving ? (or maybe a setting i can change) Because aside from that i have no real issues with 1.3 so far.

I thought i could live with it at first but now its starting to annoy me a bit. Embarassed

That's what you get for singing karaoke without a pork bun in your hand! Razz

I had one crash after a drug bust mission, same error message but it was the only one so far and it didn't repeat itself after a reload. Fun game, just needs some camera work and I wouldn't mind seeing a "night only" mod at some point.

Same maker as the Just Cause 2 mod site, nothing much yet but give it some time:

Also, kill the splash intro by renaming "hk_intro_video_beta" to "hk_intro_video_beta_old" in the data/movies folder. Common sense stuff but that's all I've got for now.

Not that I know. From their forums it seems they are going to fix all shakiness and the Epileptic seizures you are having when trying to shoot.

I'm still trying to understand what's with this problem. I don't have it, never did. The whole lockpicking minigame is mouse driven here.

Good article. Most publishers would probably shoot down such a dev instantly for being so outspoken. Saying a thing like "our game is better on PC" alone would pis most publishers off. Good job SE

Don't forget tho, they had the advantage of delays.
Their game got even canned, so they might had a finished game about a year or so ago and out of boredom dedicated their remaining time on getting the pc port proper.

That's the thing I just don't "get" about publishers, it should be a fact and plain common sense that the the superior platform should offer a superior experience .. so it shouldn't hurt anyone or anything to say "our game is better on PC" because, if done properly, it would be true. There's so much fear surrounding that logic, fear that gamers are going to think "Well if the PC version is better then my console version is crap? I'm not buying that!" -- it's rubbish. If a gamer as PS360 as his/her preferred platform of choice, he/she will buy that game .. if they've got a substantial PC that can handle all the bells and whistles, no doubt they'll buy that one.

I highly doubt most of the bigger publishers would give a dev enough time to get bored. If a publisher doesn't want a proper PC port, a game dev is helpless. Most publishers just outsource a PC port to some shitty studio to cut back on time and money. According to some articles I've read, Activision was also planning a much more linear experience, so the dev studio had to rewrite/redesign major parts of the game after the take-over by SE. That might explain some of teh inconsistencies in the game (since it's a game build on top of anotehr game).

It's as logical as delaying the PC version for a couple of weeks. I don't know, maybe the head honchos think people will buy a console en masse bacause of a delay. I can believe there are a lot of people who'd fall into that trap though.

Good point. Perhaps a sizeable chunk of content ended up on the cutting room floor from a previous build? It would certainly give a reason to why the game is so disjointed in its missions. Still, even despite that, it's fantastic and I've been loving every second of my 20hr+++ play so far Very Happy
