Your PC should eat this game for breakfast! Like Neona suggested some pages ago, try to turn off AA, DOF and Motion Blur from the launcher (and disable vsync).

You can unlock them either way. I found out it's different than it was in X360/PS3 versions, in the PC version you unlock all the costumes eventually after collecting comic books, finishing story missions, finishing petty crimes etc. Smile

I see. So that's why I got some of them. Didn't have the patience to do everything. I mean... 700 comic books?!

I'm collecting comic books right now, after 500 you get the rest of them on the map Wink

Yeah, I know, I got past that, but it's really boring to get them all. Plus, I had that problem with the game freezing a bit when it saved, so the whole thing became really annoying too.

I went in to this one extremely skeptical (not a big fan of Spiderman to begin with), but I must admit I'm enjoying it. At first I didn't think the web swinging was all that great, but it's definitely grown on me. The combat system shares a definite (albeit simpler) vibe to the Batman titles, the VO work is great, and the missions are fairly interesting.

Strange thing though, while free-roaming during the daytime I get constant dips into mid 40's FPS wise, yet when starting the night free roaming my FPS never dips below the v-synched 60. Is the lighting effect what's raping the framerate, er what gives? The car/pedestrian density seems unchanged between day/night.

I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Played the skidrow version until the first boss in the park and it crashed. I'll put it in the same "wait for patch" category than draksider for now Sad.
Performance weren't that bad with everything maxed out but I might disable something for a smoother gameplay.

I think the dynamic shadows are causing that.

I have some random slowdowns too, but nothing really annoying since it's always very playable.

I get random crashes with skidrow version of both this and transformers despite fps being constantly at 60, weird shit.

For people getting poor performance, disable ambient occlusion and further, for a minor boost set shadows to medium.

I finished it yesterday night, it was definitely an enjoyable ride. Not without flaws (and too easy at times) but it's a solid Spidey game in my opinion, with more than decent gameplay mechanics (a mix of fighting and stealth, and combat system similar to Batman), and entertaining dialogues and story. 7,5/10. Smile

Judging from various feedbacks around the internet looks like many Ati users are having framerate issues, hopefully the next drivers will fix it.

Apparently someone asked about it on the AMD forums (Or was it the Catalyst twitter guy?) and was answered they'll do a release of something (Hotfix I guess, maybe 12.9 WHQL though.) around September 12th, there's a newer 12.8 leaked driver out as well which might resolve it though I don't think it'll solve everything. Smile
(Similar version numbers to the 12.8 files so a clean install is required for it to update everything properly, of course that's usually the recommended way to ever install driver, ha ha.)

Probably performance related but I guess there could be some stability improvements too, perhaps now it's more due to GPU driver issues when it crashes?

I haven't tried the new 305.68 driver yet, but I suspects these crashes are related to CEG, cause every time game crashes the steam complete installation window pops up and tries to re- ceg the exe but it fails with an error code 41.
