That sounds like that Bill Gates quote about how 640k RAM is enough for everyone (even tho he actually never said it). Very Happy

I didnt noticed much performance change with changing settings.
I have good performance on an older system (radeon hd57 something and intel quad q9450, i'm cheap, only upgrade when my rigs is almost exploding), stable 30 fps settings maxed out, even with >50 players around. Lowering settings raises fps to 40 or so. Game performance is very solid considering how the game looks, but with any new release, some rigs will have issues and have to wait for patches.

people who still think, that changing/reducing resolution will have any noticable impact, are so 1999 Smile

If changing resolution does have any impact whatsoever on your pc, i suggest throwing it out the window Smile

just my 2 cents.

Not true, people will have performance issues with certain hardware, and the weirdest tweaks can have an effect.
People reported that swtor was playable at launch with a single core cpu and a radeon 9600, while a lot of people had issues with 1 year old gaming rigs. Guild wars has a far better engine, but i can imagine that people feel that the game has bad performance with their system. And again, patching will fix this.

what i meant, is, that if your only option, is to reduce resolution to something like 800x600 or something, you'd just aswell not play at all.

Im currently lvl 21, have finished all pois in my home base of divinys reach and the first area beyond that having found all pois, done all sidequests etc

Make sure you do as much crafting as possible. It can be a pretty big boost to experience. Also I recommend 100%-ing areas before going to the next one.

Ok, im 100%-ing but havent gotten into crafting at all yet but that seems to be a bit of an xp boost.
