I don't prefer anything in particular. I'm what you'd call a Jack of all trades. I'm more than decent in every task on the Battlefield, be it capturing flags on foot, flying a chopper, dogfighting (well here actually I still get raped by the really ace pilots), rolling on a tank to take down the enemy mobile AA. You name it, I can do it proficiently. I just like to mix it up all the time. And that's also the reason I can see it from all angles.

Not really - but I'd rather see the infantry get a decent chance than having a two guys flying around on the server with 200+ kills while the rest keep dying like flies. It's supposed to be fun for everyone - not just the ones that are lucky enough to be able to get a heli.
The majority of Enginers never carry stingers cos they are well...pretty much totally useless as it is.

Hell, increasingly frequently I've been seeing helis sitting at the base for several minutes when I'm playing alone (I try to avoid taking it when my friend is not around) even on a full 64-player server. People just get fed up of going for the chopper only to start hearing the constant beep sound even before taking off :\ It's really not worth it right now to fly a chopper with an unkinown gunner, as most of the times it's some nooblet who has the flares unlocked but doesn't even activate them or uses them along with yours. Now after this patch it won't be worth it even with a qualified gunner.

Oh well, I guess we'll see what will really happen in time Smile

• FIM92 and IGLA now lock on to air vehicles at both lower altitudes and longer distances.
I totally agree, the only vehicles affected by this *buff* are the choppers, the good jet pilots will still be able to do their "bomb runs" and fly away at full speed...

After 600 hours I'm pretty much done with BF3, every fucking match I join there is no fucking teamplay. Baserape, spawnkilling, team full of snipers...yeah fuck off piece of fucking dickheads.

As for the chopper flare debate, I am not that thrilled about the change. ECM+Flares is something I always liked on my chopper, and while it allowed me to escape a lot of situations unscathed, it was not by any means game-breaking - if people were actually out to get you and would cooperate, they would shoot you down pretty quick.

This really only matters on maps with no AA, or, more importantly - no jets. If the opposing team has jets in the air and your chopper manages to go unpunished for long periods of time, it is absolutely the other teams fault, the way I see it.
On large conquest maps choppers normally didn't stay in the air for more than a minute (if even that much) because as soon as you took off you would have crap load of lock-ons and AA fire from the ground and inescapable attacks from jet's main gun from above. And even damn tanks start shooting at you should you fly too low while trying to hide.

All in all, the only times when it felt to me that the attack chopper was overpowered were when the opposing team just sucked or wasn't even trying to take it out.

Lol It took you 600 hours to realize this game is a piece of turd? and Dice/EA only care about your money?

I've played about 175 hrs and I uninstalled it a while ago, I'm thinking of jumping back in since Armored Kill is on the horizon (non derpremium)

but then I realized the game is still gonna look blue as hell, the art direction & gameplay is still horrendous and with all the AK hype , I see only one map that might be interesting - Alborz mountain ...idgaf about the rest.

Yea, teamplay is and always will be a problem. Even since BC2 (for me, at least). But, luckily even with ONE friend with voice over in squad, one can make a difference. Imagine if you had FOUR freinds... Razz

Wouldn't be bothered the least by it (even though it's 1'st out of my top 5 weapons used).... ^_^
As long as they don't turn all the weapons into something from an RPG where I have to roll my dice higher than 4 to get a hit then I'm fine with that.
Also, they should remove the god damn random effect on suppression completely... >.<

Hmmm, I'm afraid I was wrong with what I posted Razz The files for the expansion shouldn't be included in the download as non-premium users wouldn't have use for them anyways.

If anyone remembers how it works please clarify Razz
