Too bad it's so expensive here (60€). By the reviews it sounds like a really great mouse (the recharge, Darkfield laser tracking...)

just ordered this "beauty" I've been interested in trying it out since i saw it, years ago. It's now so cheap i couldnt resist buying it.
Been using my Wacom Intuos5 a lot lately, and when going back to the mouse you can really feel the strain and how unnatural it feels, gonna be interesting to see how this mouse holds up. |
What's this?? O.o

Well let's just say it doesnt really belong in a topic called "sexiest mouse ever"
I've tried it for 20 minutes now, and i've got to say i like it already. I thought it would feel really weird at first, but it didn't, didn't need any time to adapt.
One thing i like is having the scroll wheel at the thumb, which means you don't need to let go of the "trigger finger" like on a normal mouse. It's also nice to hold it in the same position as you're holding a gun, so in System Shock 2 (only game i've tested so far) it felt a bit more immersive. Negative thing is it requires more space and you've got to have tiny hands for it to be comfortable (it's probably made for asians, or 12 year old kids). But the grip feels great to me (who has small hands). I think i will mod it a bit though, i'd like to have a bit higher plateu to put my pinky finger on, easy to fix.
In a review i read it was impossible for use in every-day tasks, but i don't have a problem browsing with it etc. It might not replace my Logitech G9 yet, but it will be nice for games. Great relief for the wrist and feels very natural to use. Worth the very little money i spent (~$25).

I scroll using my middle finger? My index finger doesn't leave the left mouse button for it. |
Ok, i could never use a mouse like that, i keep just two fingers (index, middle finger) on the mouse, clicking with the ring finger feels very strange to me (had to try it), mostly because the position of the hands get completly messed up using 3 finger on it.. Is that how most people use the mouse, 3 fingers? Heh, never seen any of my friends using it like that i believe.
I'm from a generation where mouses had 2 buttons at most - for a really long time hehe.. maybe that's why i and my friends hold it like that.

Oh I don't CLICK the mousewheel. Ever. I've got one of the thumb buttons set to emulate that.
I started with two button mice as well; still have some in a box in fact (including a bright red one with green buttons, from Cherry IIRC ), but it's that position which always felt unnatural. I have fairly big hands, but with one finger on each mouse your wrist is slightly twisted and the muscles are constantly stretched (good recipe for RSI as well, so be careful with that ). I have my whole hand literally resting on the mouse, which means that my middle finger is on the scroll wheel just from my hand's natural position
When I got the first Intellimouse it felt completely natural to me straight away
