XLM360 works to download the file, but I think NFOAC is talking about the XCP files themselves, which are encrypted and cannot be extracted without the encryption keys. Jester made a tool to extract the Reach XCP but it doesn't work on other XCP files.

You're saing the .xcp are encrypted but the arcade demos are .xcp as well.

What DOES work though, is getting hold of the demo files for the XBLA title you want and sticking them on your Content partition on the HDD (you can use USB too, since you'll have the ability to move files thanks to file browsers on JTAG/RGH) then unlocking via XM360. Same way you download "offline" demos, only this time you can unlock from trial and have the full title.

So you're saing that you can put those on the HDD and unlock them with xm360 (for ex.)?

Sites like Digiex and X360i often uploaded ripped demo files which you simply inject into your HDD or USB device. Stuff like that can be unlocked via XM360 and the like. If hfric can show us all a way of extracting XCP (and no, Jester's Reach extractor doesn't work) then that will make life a whole lot easier for everyone -- but since they're encrypted then I don't know of any way of extracting them without the decryption keys. The 360 does that when it downloads from Live, it temporarily stores the XCP and decompresses from there.

Not the XCP files, but yeah.. that's exactly what I'm saying.

Ahh, I see! I was using Digiex like that for some older XBLAs, but for new releases, the scene came through faster. Very Happy

Based on what hfric and you wrote, I thought the XBLM is a viable alternative to that.

Yeah, we've cleared that out. For .xcp to be used properly, we need an extractor/unpacker - witch was known for some time, but after reading the previews comments I thought something came up - and there's none so far.
So until then they are pretty much useless; as they've been until now.

Agreed.

I've had a play with the program's mentioned in this thread and came to the conclusion that's it's easier to let other people mess about and then release them lol.

Touché and true enough Smile The difference is though, I don't tease people with that knowledge and I never, ever outright tell people what I have and they don't - that's just cruel. By claiming that you know a super secret way of extracting XCP and refusing to divulge it, you taunt people for no good reason. And, well, let's just say the credibility of such claims is a little low... grinhurt

If you just want some reviews, go to Gamespot. This is a piracy forum and the half the time you'll read comments about.. *gasp* ... piracy Very Happy Remember this?

That's what we've been doing on the last page, giving people the information they need to find the latest pirated release ^_^ However, I do still apologise for dragging on the discussion needlessly .. I'm just gutted that I can't get this like I planned Sad

Yeah, I remember. I was just in a bad mood and didn't care to read through the thread at that moment. My apologies.

Does anyone know the name of that reviewer? Earlier, I used to only watch Game Trailer reviews, as they were well presented and hit the nail on the spot. But now I just watch a bunch of gameplay videos and decide if I want to get the game or not.

THIS game, however, does not need any reviews. It's quite possibly the best possible XBLA game out there. I'm almost near the end, should be done with it today. I had more fun with it, than I did with Shadow Complex. Very Happy
