Is it point and click? I remember it was famous back when I was a young lad! Wonder if it's worth a play

I expect most people here bought it when I asked here for votes when it was on that poll during the steam summer sale. It was pretty cheap (got the bundle with Dreamfall) Smile

I still haven't played it though, the playthrough is more or less scheduled for sometime in 2013 Very Happy

Blood in dosbox. 640x480 +aspect ratio Cool

This game always was and always will be scary for me Crying or Very sad And man! How brutal it is.
But this time I decided to FINISH IT. I am nearing end of first episode Razz

I am playing it at night with headphones on. One of most atmospheric games ever. And Caleb voiceover is fantastic

wsad controls + mouse only with x axis enabled. I like to play old games like this.

Just started playing Arx Fatalis today. I already started it some time ago. I was on my way to Arx, so very little was played of it. Anyway... it's such an immersive game! I fucking love it! This is why I love Arkane. Fucking immersion! And of course, 2/2 of their games are masterpieces, soon to become 3/3.

I was about to post here last night because of all the immersion thing, but I was enjoying it so much that I just forgot and kept playing. I felt the game was a bit bland in the beginning, but like for many great games (like for instance, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.), I knew I only needed to be patient. Right now I'm doing the quest for that Zohark/Krahoz stuff and the lower levels are so creepy and atmospheric, and the music for each of them really helps giving that feel Smile

Btw, besides this game, I was playing Civ V and Broken Sword I which I finished last night. Really enjoyed the game, apparently it was one of the first games to use the Templar lore and related history. My only quirks were some annoying bugs where some events wouldn't trigger unless I reloaded the latest save game and tried triggering them again, that made me lose quite some time but in the end I just adapted and kept on playing. Maybe it was some bug introduced in the Director's Cut?

damn this game is so fun, especially after you meet faye Smug ; but seriously the shooting and dismembering feels great and has some nice atmosphere because of your comrades; and also the cutscenes seem extremely interesting and this is one of the few games where i cant wait to see some more cutscenes Smile, only like the japanese can make Razz

Continuing Blood.

Downloaded gog version just to check it out and it's way different than my old version.
It's got cd music which sounds modern, is very ambient and not at all like blood main theme and i don't know how to turn it off.
It have 3d sound.

It is by default set to awe32 for sounds and wave blaster for music in setup, while I was using sound blaster always.

meh. my version better . At least for my memories Very Happy

The Walking Dead. I hate Telltale titles. I think they're too easy, lame, and poor excuses for games. That's what I thought about Jurassic Park and BTF anyway. But this one... I love it, I can't stop playing. I just wish it had a decent save feature.

I think I'm going to play Morrowind again next

Although I had zero expectations for The Walking Dead (liked Sam & Max and Monkey Island though), I was surprised how much I enjoyed it, played all three episodes in two sittings. But after episode three... it seems the choices don't matter at all; those who die, die anyway, no matter what you choose. And the plot goes on the rails.

The gog version have dosbox cfg stored in the game folder and I couldnt disable the cd music from there. The ingame options don work.
Thankfully the music can be just deleted from game folder. Its in ogg format. Then old music kicks in automaticly.
The point is that this original midi file sounds different on each sound card.

What gpu and sound card are preferred to use in dosbox? S3 savage and sound blaster?
I only had those years ago Very Happy

I absolutely love The Longest Journey and the sequel.

I may still have the original CD tucked away somewhere, while Dreamfall is on a CD from a local game magazine.

Such a great game. I love Caleb's hilariously insane, random sayings, songs, and ramblings. What a character they made. It's too bad the second game sucked so much ass. I wish there was a BloodHRP like there is for duke nukem

I had to come here and comment about Civilization V. Please consider I never played Civ IV which many people say was better. Last strategy game I played was Civ III (again excellent title) and abandoned the genre for nearly a decade because of the time it was taking from me and from college. It's just that V is an amazing game by itself.

I'm happy I had the chance to get the game during the steam summer sale for $9 and add to that another $10 for the Gods and Kings expansion. For what I get in return I can say that was a royal bargain.

Anyways, my first complete game I managed to win a scientific victory on Prince difficulty as Ramses II. After that I decided to go for King difficulty and try a culture victory as Caesar Augustus. Unfortunately, halfway (around 1200 AD) I realized I was getting raped in the culture path so I decided to put every resource on science. That lead me to nearly win the science victory by 1977 (I had already completed most of the parts of the space ship) only to be taken back to earth immediately as Kamehameha achieved the culture victory himself Reaction

Now I'm on my second try for the culture victory (King difficulty again) and it seems to be going much better around 1200 AD (Alexander). Let's see how that ends. At least I can say I feel like I've learned to be much more efficient with every playtrhough.

It's games like this, and community mods like Black Mesa (to name a totally different example) that make me feel so proud of being a PC gamer in these derp times Smile

Dreamfall is one of the worst adventure games ever created. It isn't even a game. It's a sequence of Walk,Walk,Press Dialogue Button,Walk,Walk,Walk,Press Dialogue Button,Walk,Walk, hey A Puzzle(!!!).Puzzle??Let's pretend it is for a 3 years old child.A mess of a story that leads nowhere. You have finally walked around 15km, talked 5 hours, solved 6 puzzles with the help of your 8 months baby and participated on 6 laughable fights.

Probably the only brawler I ever loved:

And I don't play it right now... well, I just got out of it, but I'm playing it from time to time. I'm not even that good at it. I don't think I fully understand the mechanics either, but I love it, which is something I can't say about other games of this type.

Stunning remake, hands down the very best piece of fan-created gaming I've ever played - it's SoR perfect down to the smallest detail. No wonder Sega shut it down, the fans embarrassed the shit out of them Very Happy I love the fact that not a single visual asset or line of code was used from the originals ... the fans redrew all the sprites, composed all the music, did EVERYTHING. It seems the only reused items were recorded SFX from the base games. Still.. dedication much?

Yeah the game is incredible.
Character, voice over, his jokes (or not jokes), atmosphere, gore, music. level design. FUN. and it is scary too. One of my fav classics. Dosbox version works fantastic. and gog version allows for very high resolutions(and eats whole cpu)
