yeh, cause buying gear in a game is cheating. to hell with tp in gw2, ah in wow and so.
with l2p i mean that you dont need an obscene amount of g like he said 200.000.000 to finish inferno now. you don need gear + mf + gf + max stats for you class.
you need average items which are cheap. like i said i replace almost all my gear on wd (beside amulet/rings) with ah "drops" for 2 million, which enable me to advance to diablo, from act ii.
where is l2p on this ? is when i knew what to buy to cater my class. if you are complaining about insane prices obviously you don't.
but dont let me stay in your way, keep farming items in a game with a form of ah, and curse about bad drop rate and how shit d3 is. stick to the true d2 legacy, and pimp yourself in d2jsp forum. becuase that is not cheating.
really guys ? noone remembers 100 mephisto runs with 100% shit drops ? ah, that was ok, because you were facerolling that, without any effort.

Damn, that pretty much sums it up what i think about the game. If you tell me you don't need the AH to progress on Inferno, i'll just LOL. And i just stopped playing the game like 1 month ago, when i logged back in today, i saw medium-quality shit being sold for 10-50mil, and high-quality shit being sold for 200mil+ on the AH... I was like WTH?
I don't know if i could say the entire game, but AT LEAST Inferno difficulty was clearly thought with the AH in mind. And most ppl can't progress on inferno anymore by farming cause of the absurd prices caused by RMAH/gold buying. So yeah, it's like a F2P-Pay-to-win crap, that's not free. |

i was stuck in act ii before the latest patch (probably dint play before it for like at least 1 month), i read the patch notes, i spent 2 milions to buy some gear in ah, and before i quited to start gw 2 (again), i was close to diablo.
learn you class, you can get fairly good gear to progress in inferno really cheap, if you dont want to farm it. |
You can "faceroll" as the kiddies say, Act3-4 with very little gold spent on the auction house actually. My wiz gear on average cost 200K a piece. The point is that the AH ruined the fun of the game, which is finding (godly) items. Oh you want that cool legendary that they hyped up in the latest patch? Too bad because you have a higher chance of winning the lottery... go farm/buy some gold. The auction house "short circuits" this (those are blizz's own words, they admitted it and dont know what to do about it).
And besides, to all the people who says L2P diablo3, theres not much skill involved.. 90% of the game is a gear check. The rest is not stepping in molten lava, arcane sentries, etc. The devs tried to apply WoW values to a more twitch oriented game and those values don't translate well.

same shit in d2. and without a working ah, you really had NO chance to get it, only to use a shady site to buy it. hell, i saw in 1 week in d3 ah pimp high end stuff that it would pop up legit in d2 in time frame of months, not days. obscene prices, agree, but at least they were.
i explained above what i meant about l2p.

Nonsense. I found plenty of good uniques in D2. Obviously a lot more trash uniques but at least I could put these towards generation of new characters/builds that i wanted to try. Twinking out new characters with gear farmed from Mephisto-Hell was probably the fun of the game for me, and this was also stripped from the game thanks to everyone having the same character.
The fact of the matter is "Blizz" (i put that in quotes because obviously the ppl who made this turd are not the same ones who made the last game) turned a good item hunting game into a gold farming game. And that last game i played for at least 2 years straight, every day. I got sick of D3 in about a month. Went back and played the new patch and got sick of it all over again in 2 days.
I know what you mean by l2p, but staring at the auction house is not playing, at least in my book.
This dev from Torchlight2 said it for me best:

No bots are allowed, if detected you'll be banned ... but given the amount of bots currently running around, I'd say that Warden is taking some time off because the detection rate is laughably low.

MY D3 TAKE : Currently...
If it wasn't for 1.04, I would have quit playing.
1.04 allowed for legendaries to have very unique qualities, and is the closest I've seen any RPG come to D2 concerning allowing NON-cookie cutter builds.
When I say non-cookie cutter, I mean, say, the Blizzard Orb Barbarian from D2. Remember the D2 items that could give you skills from another class?!??!! That shit was awesome, and is the true type of loot that is missing from D3.
However, I currently have 3 legendaries that prior to 1.03 would have sucked (got these after the patch of course)
They allow for the following:
-20% chance to smite enemies upon attack
-Steal life from nearby enemies
-20% chance to haunt nearby enemies (not fear, but haunt, which causes dps)
So, basically, I only acquire legendaries with badass procs in order to get out of the cookie cutter builds.

Really don't like the concept of getting other classes abilities from loot, but like +% armor, +% damage, life stealing, chance for double attack on hit or crit, chance to summon some helper on hit (type of helper demending on the item ofc) and so on is what i consider good bonuses.
