Usually I lurk in the forums, seldom posting.
I generally like Nintendo, have been a little underwhelmed about the WiiU, sure, it seems like a more "serious" console...
Then they announced Bayonetta 2....
Mind blown...
I will seriously buy the Wii U even if Bayonetta 2 would be the only game on the console ever!
There seems to be a number of news about the WiiU on various sites like the above one since that conference began, wonder what else they'll show.
(There was something about Black Ops 2 as well but I believe it was already confirmed for WiiU but a bit later than for the other platforms and something about a video service but I think the other consoles has that too albeit via updates later on as things moved more towards digital distrubtion.)
WiiU itself seems like a modernized Wii using more recent hardware and various tweaks and other improvements (Not sure about that controller though, it's interesting but seems clunky.) but I also guess things will repeat and it'll still be the weakest of the three once the X-Box 3 and PS4 arrive whenever (Late 2013 maybe.) still it should shake things up a bit and we'll start seeing how next-gen titles (A term which I guess can be used again now.) will possibly look and play.
EDIT:

You should watch the conference JB
And the weakest of the three? I'm not so sure; Nintendo are making a far bigger jump than either Sony or MS has done in the past. If those specs are correct, they're also following a PC-like path, with more focus on GPU power than CPU power. Only time will tell I suppose, but everything shown so far looks better than PS360 stuff and it all seems to be running smooth as butter as well.
I can be wrong of course, GameCube and N64 where pretty powerful when they arrived so Nintendo isn't just doing casual or simpler things and there was a pretty diverse lineup of titles for the N64 though I do not know much about the GameCube myself.
Wii was one of the most successful consoles of this current generation I believe outside of handheld units and mobile devices (If those can be counted as well.) and now they've secured a number of deals and publishers for WiiU titles so things are looking quite good though the higher cost might be a issue albeit no doubt it will still sell really well when made available.

bit concerned over the premium model only haing a 32gb hard drive,Considering you are able to download full games from the wii store & games alone are coming on 25gb discs,Ok any full wiiu game isnt going to take up the full 25gb,But with a few game downloads it isnt going to take very long to fill up a 32gb HDD,hope these can easily be replaced with bigger HDD
They know hardcore is a marketing term and really doesn't suit any gamer. So they're bringing in 'mature' games and games with a lot of replay and what not to bring in a crowd that's lost to ps3 and Xbox. Now if ps4 and 720 comE with bricks and decent price point then awesome. But apart form 3 big hitters from Sony... And 2 from Xbox... They'll need something new for their new consoles. Bayonetta and 101 and nintendoland a few others kinda make me think that unless the next consoles come packing hits... They won't really have a place in my living room.
Visually 1080p native shouldn't be a issue with this hardware, DX10.1 in particular also allows very good MSAA capabilities and performance I believe, 4K support for the other upcoming consoles would be the only competition in that area later on otherwise they'll probably all do 480, 720 and 1080 with 1080p along with AA probably done correctly for all launch titles.
(1920x1080 isn't really that much for a modern GPU to handle is it, 2x or even 4x AA with AF should work too plus on consoles performance will be better so 60 FPS can likely be achieved even with this until they start really pushing the hardware to it's limits but that's some years away if this current generation is anything to go on.)
The rest probably hinges on what types of games they can secure along with marketplace and DLC support for other titles and content from music to video to third party content in general.
This will probably also see a more heavy focus on interactivity and social connectivity or how to say it which might influence things a bit, that's just a guess though, I wouldn't really know.

actually i'm almost certain 1080p across the board WILL be an issue for the WiiU. i expect many demanding games to run below 1080p, especially few years down the line when they try to compete running same games with new ps and xbox, which will have much better hardware.
kinda like how it was with 360/ps3, at first all games ran 720p, but later more and more started doing sub HD.
Well we'll see, no doubt later on when hardware starts to become a bit limiting like what's currently happening on current consoles now there will probably be similar sacrifices, we'll see.
oh boy and again i see nothing special only ONE game ... Zombie U .......
p-100 is meh .. here gameplay ... more like pickmin clone ..meh... oh wait another pickmin game ...meh...
as of now 1 game ... and yes i buy consoles only for exclusives ... bayoneta 2 ... sooner or later it will be on other systems , but then again why would you be happy about ? the first part was ultra short .. only 3h... Lego GTA ..heh it was meant to happen sooner or later ...
will buy one when the library will be big enough and the games will be worth to waste time on ...
oh and does anyone know if this will be a REGION FREE console ?
Hmm...didn't know the release date is around the corner until someone mailed me today, trying to sell me a pre-order. No clue what games this thing will have, but I'll be getting one after x-mas.
Holy sheit, the wii u is expensive for being slightly better than the 360 and ps3. They can go to hell as far as im concerned until the prices are more realistic.

But how old is xbox360 now? Think I have had mine for at least 6 years. Fair comparisment cannot not be made until sony and m$ release their new consoles next (?) year.

how is 350$ expensive?
It's a new console with tablet as a controller and better spect as 360 and ps3.
You didn't really expected it to be 200-250 did You ?
