No. the way it's done. The way it accomplishes certain moments. Like undertow. Griffon thought the movie was boring. Utterly stupid. Slow. Yaddi Yadda. But the movie had character. The movie was just brilliant. It was perfect. The pace. Fuck everything! It was just beautiful!

Thinking a movie is good is just an opinion. Doesn't matter how many people follow it.

Please, that sentence is utter tripe Injurious, and you know it. |
Oh please. Fuck off! You have to know how movies are made. Why they are made. Why certain scenes are like that. Why is the dialogue accomplished a certain way. When you look at a movie as sheer entertainment then it'll always be an opinion. But when you look at a movie beyond its entertaining value then you truly understand what makes it good. Having chills in a shit fest like war of the worlds doesn’t make it a good movie. Fuck. A lot of people liked it. It doesn’t mean it’s a good movie. A majority turns shit into a cult classic. Like Guy Ritchie movies. Or that… boondock saints. You can’t tell me they are good movies! They are just entertaining.
Wow. I didn't think AnimalMother was so damn shallow-minded.
You can state an opinion and you can state a fact. It's my opinion that you're a damn retard. It's a fact that you're better educated than I.
It's an opinion that war of the worlds was remotley entertaining. It's a fact that speilberg hasn't made a GREAT movie since Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Want me to go on?

All movies by all directors are shit, unless its a movie I like.
that is 100% fact, and anuone that disagree's is wrong, so just get used to it.
this film will prolly be shite, because the book has so much too it, lets face it they have trouble making a 300 page book into a film, and this is 600 pages plus.

I asked you what factually makes a movie good, and you still haven't answered that question. Which was the main point of my post.
Who decides whether the way a movie accomplishes certain moments is 'good'? The critics? Because they certainly don't agree on everything.
The word 'good' by it's very definiton is intrinsic to the nature of opinion.
Isn't the whole purpose of a movie to entertain, and sometimes possibly have a moral message of some sort? If a movie accomplishes it's purpose, then I think it can logically be regarded as 'good'.
It's most definitely not a fact that spielberg hasn't made a great movie since close encounters. Your definition of a great movie is wildly different to others.

I know when the movie is good for ME and why.
What makes a movie good ? Well that's depends on the viewer, someone thinks LOTR is the BEST because of the war scenes/effects, the other thinks it's the BEST because of the dialog. Someone thinks it suck. Like I said it depends on the viewer.

Griffon. Griffon. Griffon. Griffon. Sad little boy locked in a pop-up book. Griffon. Griffon. Giffon. Don’t hide. Just because YOU see it as a waste of time doesn't mean it is. Does it? Sadly. You are unable to argue. You points are childlike. Which is understandable. Argue to prove him wrong. It never went off topic. He said RON HOWARD was a pussy. You tried to prove him wrong. It was still on topic. Do you see? DO YOU SEE? It was on topic. You kept going of topic by knit-picking on useless bull-shit.

I've said what I’ve said. You’re arguing very stupidly. Stupidly. Stupidly. Stupidly. Those movies don’t even compare to to to to to to to to close encounters. Schindlers list is total crap. Could’ve been a lot better. E.T. come on? Are you serious? The fact that you mentioned Saving Private Ryan just makes me weep. That movie is so fucking stupid and so fucking annoying that come on, man. How can you… how can you… how can you say that movie was great? Are you honestly that fucked up in the head that you can’t even realize when a movie is good?
It’s sad that you have to cower in fear like this, Griffon. It’s sad, man. You did it before when you were proved wrong. You kept ringing that opinion bell. You kept singing the same tune. Why are you like this griffon? You’d be such a wonderful subject. Such a wonderful patient. Such a… such a… such a joy to get inside of you. Mmm. Come with me griffon. Come with me.

Schindler list
It’s not just a movie about Jews
It’s a movie about human compassion and what a person is willing to do. It's not just about fucking Jews. How they lived. Or anything. It's about what Oskar went through to help them. How he felt. How and why he did certain things. And Spielberg didn't achieve it the way it should've been done. He kept focusing on Jews. On how Jews had it bad. How others had it bad. How cripples had it. How this how that. There were only few moments that showed who Schindler really was! And only those few moments were worth watching…
Fuck at the end of movie all you could think was about the Jews. Not Oskar!
Knit… knit… knit picking again.. .wow… it’s what you’re good at? Aren’t you! You little boy. Mmm how I’d love to become a sadistic pedophile just to fuck you..
Quote: | Both opinions. Some like it, some don't. How can it be a fact? |
Hahahahaha arguing like that does make me wonder if you really understand the movies you watch.
Quote: | How could I say those movies are great ? I can answer only with a question. "How can you say otherwise ? |
How can i… how… how… how can I say otherwise? Easily. Spielberg become hollywoodized. Trademark, baby! Trademark! Now… when you look at his old movies… his old movies… his old movies that actually were before he became this famous cock-sucker and before he got control of his works his movies were surprisingly decent. Now they are just entertaining. Even schindlers list is entertaining and not decent.
Do you see? Do you see? It’s not opinion. It’s a fact that Spielberg is now a hack! Smile, baby, smile!
Quote: | Seriously, it's sad to see you turn opinions into FACTS. You think that your opinion is a fact. Very very very sad ? You see ? sad sad |
No! My opions aren’t facts. It’s when I state facts that’s when they are facts. Do you see? When I say… once upon a time in America is a good movie… it’s not an opinion…. It’s a fact. It’s not my fact. It’s a proven fact. Shall I… shall I… shall elaborate it for you, young one? Hmmm? Then again if I have to prove to you that once upon a time in America is a good movie… well then… then… then I’ll cry… < like that baby, I’ll cry like that.

Art is not a popularity contest.

The ideas, the themes, the originality, the style. You may not like how a movie accomplishes such things but these are things that set higher art apart from kindergarden drawings or cheap, cliche painting of a sunset.

Ok let me go through this for you.
E.T. - strong film
Raiders of the Lost Ark - strong film
Empire of the Sun - flawed
Last Crusade - decent
Temple of Doom - decent
Jurassic Park - not too shabby
Schindler's List - saw this long time ago so I won't comment although I don't find it memorable
Saving Private Ryan - I'm guessing you like to be anally raped with propaganda and then soaked in honey.
You missed his strongest movies after Close Encounters...
Minority Report - flawed but still good
A.I. - just about a masterpiece
Quote: |
I'd say it's a medicore movie. If they would improve the acting/script/less plotholes, it would be a good movie. But still... it's not a fact Smile - LOADS of people think it's good, most of the people who saw it anyways... |
Wait a second. So you claim its a mediocre movie yet it needs to improve in every category to become good? Isn't that a BAD movie?
Quote: | BTW the movie wasn't even good, I usually like de niro and the other mob cast, but this one was simply bad. |
Why? Don't forget to bring some reasoning otherwise you'll make yourself look like Griffon here.

I see. So you want to play that game now do you? Let's check out your activity in this thread for the last 24 hours or so. For the fun of it I'll even take a few guesses as to what you were doing in between.

Seriously you attempt to say I have no life because I spent 5 min making a post, but you clearly spent ATLEAST an hour and half just trolling these forums and saying nothing of significance. If I looked around the forums some more I could probably fill every minute up with a post of yours. Hypocrite.

About Hitman: Movie (2007)
Vin Diesel is a hardcore gamer, and absolutely loves the Hitman series. For that reason I have faith that he wont destroy the movie.
Response: Well, Uwe Boll probably loved the Alone in the Dark games.

Griffon why did you do that? Why did you say that?
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year, running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.
