Quote: | Half-Life 2 presents a dystopian alternate history of Earth, where the resources of the planet, including the human race itself, are being harvested by an oppressive multidimensional empire, known as the Combine. The game is set around the fictitious City 17, somewhere in Eastern Europe, roughly 20 years after the events of Half-Life. |

Don't worry, CM comes with a selection UI so you can pick and choose what models you want to install. I'm not a fan of the "reenvisioned Alyx!" either. |
That's nice, thanks. The new Alyx looks like one of those generic plastic babydolls from the italian tv

I'm getting weird stuttering with this. Several times during the game (about 1 hour play time) the audio and everything just jammed up.
Never had an issue with any source game on my machine, or really any game in years.

Just noticed another cool detail. If you have an NPC following you and don't do any actions for awhile (like leaving your computer) when you start playing again they'll make comments like "catch your breath yet?"

I can't believe there are people that honestly claim this is a mod or mod "quality" - I've been playing for several hours and it's anything but "mod quality", this oozes commercial quality from ever pore. It's fantastic.
.... took too damned long to come out, but still fantastic.

+1, luv you sabin.
And as somebody else said, I love how you actually have to think to solve a couple of problems. You see something you want but can't reach it.. Took me 20 minutes to figure out that I had pick up a crank handle and use it to move a crane so I could crawl over the top of the crane-thingie.
This is probably the best mod of all time.

CM is pretty bad (IMO of course). It's not just the character models. It has a completely different atmosphere compared to vanilla HL2.
It's not merely a graphical update, it changes the whole mood of the game (to something that isn't "HL").
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend it if you never played HL2 before, but it's still worth to check out. The amount of work that went in to it alone is amazing.
I believe that both CM and Black Mesa Source were announced around the same time. And the first actually provides similar gameplay mechanics as the latter. /choice to turn on iron sights, etc/
Overall CM tends to create a more darker atmosphere than the original game and a few design choices Valve themselves scrapped during the initial development.
On the flip side - CM provides and unlocks a lot of additional character dialogue that was cut or unused in vanilla game and would be interesting to any fan of the series.

2007 sdk require 2006 sdk assets, so it also downloads 2006 sdk, but sometimes not whole thing.

what the... am i the only one who noticed that right before the "Forget About Freeman" chapter, where you kill the big monster with the mortar, there is a missing part from the original HL.
Kind of a big one, with one or two halls where the aliens and military were fighting each other and after that you had to find a security guy in a building so he could open you a door to the garage where you encounter the monster.
Here in BMS you have the monster right after the shaft youre in is being shot off. Oh well... It´s like the "On a Rail" as someone already mentioned here.
