I don't want any herpaderp auto-aim enabled and I don't always remember to check them Sad

Not tried it, but shouldn't creating an autoexec.cfg and changing the options in that work? I had some issues with cs:s resetting to defaults, and have always used an autoexec file to keep eveything rosy. Smile

I guess I'll grab this and give it a try. I only played HL1 once and then never really bothered with it after that. Unlike HL2 which I've been through several times. Maybe this will seem like a new game for me.

Indeed mate, indeed.

Yes. And that's the main reason I chose not to complain about the time it took to be done. The devs kept saying that they weren't going to release it until it was virtually bug free and polished.

Well fuck me, I'm impressed.

They took their sweet fucking time, but god damn, it is good. I actually quite like the fact that it's not a 1:1 copy; the changes they made are all improvements and I'm falling in love with the game all over again. I loved it 14 years ago (holy shit at that as well..14 years Neutral) and I'm loving it now. Fits right into the awesome past 14 months or so that have been filled with games that make up for the horrendous 2009 and 2010. Even though this is just a mod, the fact that it's better than most AAA games now says a lot about both how good HL1 was at the time, as well as how shit games have been "recently".

Valve, please pick these guys up. They fit right in; even down to their sense of soon™ Cool Face

Now..how am I going to find the time for this, TL2, BL2, Dishonored, .... oh bollocks Sad

I've installed it, and played it for half an hour last night, and I am impressed. It's like HL1 that looks like HL2 (in terms of graphics) Very Happy

I like reading the boards in Black Mesa labs xD So far I've seen some metric on the board, some things from statistical physics with averages, few partial derivatives here and there Very Happy

The atmosphere is wicked Very Happy

I was thinking to myself, while riding in the train, that in HL3, I wouldn't be surprised if they make Gordon go back to Black Mesa facilities somehow Smile

That would be wicked. Since Black Mesa was nuked by Gman (OpFor).

For one they are nuked, but even if time travel (which is part of HL series in the form of the "slow" teleportation scene in HL2 and the stopping of time by Gman) was involved , remember that Valve insisted on nuking Black Mesa in Op4 so that their next games (HL2) are set in a new setting.

Yes it was! But it's considered non-canon by Valve (or rather its plot points are considered non-canon until referenced by HL2+, and so far only the nuking of BM has been referenced which is the only thing Valve insisted Gearbox put in their expansions) and the team is not interested screwing with the canon of the series.

Also they said they wouldn't work on Op4, BS remakes ages ago.

Wasn't there an Opposing Force 2 mod int he works? I remember that the quality looked quite on par with BMS (as far as screenshots could tell).

Well, I hope OPM sees the light of the day. Took another look at those OP2 screens and... damn... some stuff looks hideous. Laughing

*EDIT* OPMs quality seems pretty much on par with BMS. Shocked

Finsihed the game. Didnt like
xtreme stuttering
platfor jumping games
graphics
radiation grain filter
Ai reaction time and accuracy
console style player camera placement=low fov feel
crouch jumping
no lean or prone
headcrabs are annoying
crashed once during the chopper fight
loading is too frequent
Overall I didnt like the mod except the combat in the desert.
