How many of you played the original half life back in the day using right click to jump and shift to crouch instead of space and ctrl or whatever? That might be where a lot of the crouchjump rage is coming from newer players. They have grown up on spacebar to jump, while older gamers grew up on right click to jump. So for us crouch jump meant a quick press of shift with the pinky on one hand and right clicking with the other. That to me seems easier and more natural then space+ctrl (plus movement).
I have adapted to the spacebar to jump playstyle (thanks to asshole devs who don't allow key re-mapping) but I always revert to right click in halflife/valve games.
I also have no problem crouch jumping with all three keys on one hand when I use spacebar for jumping in other games, even the ones that don't have crouch jump I still find myself doing it.

I used to host my own server, get in a warthog and run everybody over as soon as they spawned or joined the server. My username was Admiral:

Honestly, do people want to be able to jump into tunnels without crouching? Picture this, you jump into a tunnel while your body is mostly upright, does that make sense to you?

HL2 was by far the better game in my eyes, I just loved everything about it
