http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Testament_of_Sherlock_Holmes

Quote:
Sherlock Holmes is making his return to the world of gaming this fall with The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes: The Testament of Sherlock, a large-file adventure game that will immerse players in 1898 London as Holmes faces one of his most challenging cases yet.
The story finds Holmes in a very uncomfortable spot, as he finds himself the prime suspect in a case involving theft, fraud and double-crossing. Unable to prove his own innocence, Holmes is rapidly losing London’s trust as doubt spreads through the city like wildfire. Even Doctor Watson's faith in his friend begins to waver, as the famous detective flees Scotland Yard.
As Sherlock Holmes, players use the detective's repertoire of skills to discover the truth, including handling and inspecting clues, reenacting crimes, and using the game's new deduction system to draw your own conclusions. Choose your questioning approach to catch characters off guard and gather valuable information, and decide which leads to follow and which to ignore.

Coming out later this year.

I think I'll try this one even though the genre isn't my thing. I watched Dodger's LP of Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper a while back, I watched the show and I fucking loved it, I also rewatched the movies after that and now some trailers for this and I just want more Holmes! This looks quite well done and very dark, which I like.

Out on Gamersgate now, doesn't specify what DRM it uses, seems to be around 6 GB for file size.

Has any console user tried this game? If it plays like L.A Noire in terms of gameplay, then I could probably think of getting it. Else it goes into my instant skip/ignore list.

That's pretty expensive. Amazon aren't much cheaper at £24.99.

shopto is the cheapest at £19.85.

A day or a few too late, but i'm gonna try it now. Seeing as no one else has bothered i can see if it's worth putting out a few words about it.

Some activation based solution, I don't own the game so I don't know if it's SecuROM or even SolidShield/Tages but that might be why it's taking a while.

Steam doesn't say anything about thirdparty DRM but Focus Home Interactive published Game of Thrones, Wargame:EE ang Pro Cycling manager so I bet it uses ActContol a.k.a Starforce 5.

Seems we have to wait for The.Testament.of.Sherlock.Holmes-RELEODED

This is what one of the developers said: (this was from a forum on gameboomers)

"About activation, yes we have online activation, but...Who hasn't?

you buy games on Steam, online activation, BigFishGames, online activation. Apple itunes and appstore, all online.
And it's not limited to games, Amazon, plane tickets, pay your local taxe, fine for police, even voting...
Fighting online sales, activations, might be your choice but it's not connected to Frogwares choice or policy, it is how the world works today.

Protection for our games, is protection for our jobs. With internet speed today and availibility of free content, we are resisting theft and piracy, I don't believe it's shameful to want to have reasonnable profit over our work, and be able to do the next game."
