so rld + thata works just fine, but it deletes ur savegame ;D

also you need to change the installer from Torchlight 2 to Torchlight II ;D

Saves are most likely not deleted, groups just use different folders for savegames.

Also it's 1.11.2.3 for the non-steam version and 1.11.5.3 for the steam version (for the theta update).
If you were playing with their original release, don't forget to launch the Torchlight2_steam.exe file instead, else the game won't find your previous saves.

Just bought it 2 hours ago, first thing I noticed was the soundtrack and the atmosphere that reminded me of Diablo 2, somehow different, yet alike. Wonderful game and hopefully not the last game of it's series.
Anyhow, don't understand how anyone can hate on this game unless they're D3 fanboys. As a huge fan of D2, I also enjoy this game, so why does anyone dislike this game ? It's ilogical.

Thanks, was wondering if they managed to get the game working on more cores then 1 and more cards then 1.
But don't see anything about that yet Razz

That's because RLD's version is from Steam and Steam's new patching system means smaller initial downloads but ends up meaning you need to provide the fully patched files themselves -rather than the patch. If you know what I'm getting at.

THeTA's version is the Runic/PWE non-Steam one.

Wouldn't you be able to create a multiplayer game, set the difficulty to what you want it to be, and play there even though the char you are using started on another?

I started both of my chars on veteran, but was able to join and create a normal game with them. I imagine it'd work the other way around as well.

Dont see why it would need more power, runs already like 100fps + all times.

I love it how when I want to play torchlight 2 due to frustrations from D3 playthroughs, Steam fucks me over and won't let me play. Now that I can play torchlight 2 again, I remember why I hate and love both games, and switch back to D3.

Yes you can!
“C:/Users/#USERNAME#/My Games/Runic Games/Torchlight 2/Save”

Open settings.txt and search for “Console :0″. Change the parameter to “Console :1″
Now you can open the Console window while in-game by pressing “INSERT“.
Then use

setdifficulty
0 = Easy
1 = Normal
2 = Veteran
3 = Elite

Note: It may detect you as a cheater for others in MP

I have no idea how this really works, but can it be possible that the game only detects that you have enabled the console once you go online and flag you then? what if you disconnect your internet and change the difficulty, and then remove the console again? For all i know the game itself might flag your character.

Nope, initial release was the steam version.
Update included exes from both steam/pw versions though.
They just used a clever patching process Wink

I think people here are smart enough to judge a game on its own merits. "Diablo 3 sucked ass, we need an aRPG badly, so we'll call this average shit awesome" is not the case.'We're not children looking for a new toy.

The gameplay is great, sadly the entire aRPG genre has not moved an inch in other areas. While Diablo 3 did have great storytelling, it was due to a very high budget and the story was still crap/fluff. Apparently good story and aRPG can never coincide, god knows why, but as long as the gameplay elements are great it is a great game.
As for GFX, I don't know which Diablo 3 played, but it looked to me nothing more than average. It just had more clutter.

Oh, there are smart people out there - but it's not so much a matter of intelligence, as it's a matter of wanting to be fair and objective.

If you can't see how a LOT of the positive responses to Torchlight 2 are somewhat exaggerated because of the D3 disappointment - then I guess we can just agree to disagree.
