6, one of which is just part of the main quest line.

#1: Act 1 in the Frosted Cave (second area, Frosted Hills); light up all the braziers, there's a locked door in the dungeon somewhere (for Lathi and me it was right near the start)
#2: Act 2 in the Tower of Moon (first area, Ossean Wastes): there's 4 gongs around the area (one in each corner more or less for us). Hit them (can be tricky) and the door in the back opens.
#3: Act 2 in the Brood Hive (second area, Salt Barrens): just destroy all the eggs, we just randomly found it.
#4: Act 3 in the Windmill (part of main quest in Blightbogs): was a bit tricky. You have to read all 5 diary entries and there's 4 dead skeletons stuck to the wall with an axe, pull that axe out. A door will open again, took us a while to find it though Very Happy
#5: Do the whole Cacklespit chain; when you get to Cacklespit realm, destroy all tree stumps in there and again there'll be a secret passage. You'll have to look for unmarked bridges Smile

Anyone playing NG+?

Are there any major differences as opposed to regular playthrough? New monsters/quests/affixes or more Champion monsters or better AI or stuff like that? Or is it just the same old with more health, damage, armor and scaled loot?

I just beat the game and basically you get a clean slate but with your existing character and everything scaled to your current level (Max of 100) thus you get far better equipment and a greater challenge than the first time through the game. Smile
(And chance to see different areas, quests and such as a part of this reset.)

You also unlock the map emporium or what it was called where you can buy challenging dungeon maps (Usually seems to be two floors with a boss at the end of the second.) which ranges from around your level to a bit above (Max of 105) which you can use to grind for items.

Progress is going really well! I found a sword that didn't look like much at first (well compared to my previous weapon, the Jawbreaker), but once I did some stuff to it I found out it's a beast! Just look at the DPS in the second screenshot. Also, YAY! for full Ironlord set.

+1
Redhead lvl16 engineer here and I'm starting to collect some seriously powerful stuff that makes my character unstoppable. Very Happy I didn't love Torchlight 1 but this sequel is definitely keeping my interest alive, thanks to the more varied locations, better loot and the nice random events like you said.

@DR: awesome!

Nope, it's the engineer. I started with the berserker, but it bored me to death so I rolled an engineer and stuck with it since it has all those awesome passives and of course, it's the class that deals with shields!

From what I understand the cannons are quite a thing, especially for the engineers, but they're not my thing. I just love the sheer brutality the engineer has if done as a melee build! Fuck that puny berserker! It can't do shit! Laughing

I'm using a custom fxaa but I think the result is the same (sharper image, more detailed):

Yeah the berserker turned out shit. I was looking for a challenge, it is challenging, but it also a bit boring now. I think I'll redo it with an engineer. What happens to old characters when starting a new game? Is my engineer still alive?

Sadly no, He's taken out back of the woodshed, where he's dis-membered and then cut into paper-thin slices, cured and then sold as pet treats for your new toon ... Smile

I have two "gimped" toons trying to find out which one will survive until the end .. elite mode does tend to make your poor skill & attribute choices really "shine" through.... sigh

Yeah I know what you mean , they can be limited by enabling FXAA from the Nvidia control panel, too. It's quite effective, nice result overall. Smile
