I have been playing this game past few days and I must say SP is really challenging. There are few missions that are hard as hell. For example "Poland has not been lost yet" or "1914 again..." AI is very strange and range from cheating idiot to cheating genius. You have to learn all advantages and limitations of your units. Forget about tank or helo spam (that plagued MP) cause you are really limited with units. Every tank counts.
So if anyone had problems with this mission I found solution that works very well. After 2 days of retrying "1914 again" I almost killed my poor mouse. I tried everything (logical and illogical) and read ton of posts with advice how to complete it but I was always overwhelmed with his tank/apc rush. Then I realized if I ignore secondary mission (India hill) and kill some of his command units that control entry points especially ones that spam most dangerous units, AI won't try to retake it. I sent my HOT Gazellas and disabled his T-80s and Mi-24s eastern entry points. Even managed to return all 4 of them back to defensive positions. After that I turtled up on the eastern side and I collected 2000 points easily without any major losses.

Snatched the game from last Steam sale.
Tried first mission so far and I'm liking the feel of this game. It really encourages you to plan ahead and think through.
Tank rush will only get you dead in this game. I lost 2 tanks in the first missions last battle and all their experience with it... this sucks.
The combat experience really does show - for example my recon unit with 0 experience got under supressive fire and after some 10 seconds of it, panicked and fleed the battleground.
On the other hand my leveled-up tank squad had no trouble to eliminate ambushing enemy squad while under fire.
So anyone who likes a true tactical strategy, grab this!
Lol I got stuck in the second mission, Crossroads. Maybe I'm retarded but am I supposed to win with the starting forces only ? After I take that first point, there are enemy units roaming around, tanks and APCs and stuff ... who is supposed to kill all that ? The 3 Chieftains ?
I'm outnumbered 5 to 1 at least. This game goes over my head.
What? Why won't you buy tanks, like 4 Leopards or equal? I played it long time ago, don't remember what was available by then. Unless you didn't unlock them
