The Expendables 2 - 4 / 10

Comments not really necessary. This is an old-school type of action movie in all its bad, with tired clichés and lots of really terrible out of place one liners and "boss fights". Add random explosions and an exaggerated sense of bullet dodging by the heroes (with an obvious "that friendly is going to die"-moment (á la Star Trek, Picard, Data, Worf and Ensign Willis are going to a planet, one of them is not coming home... guess who it is). Switch your brain off while watching and it immediately gets +2.

Yes, yes I'm back.

Resident Evil Retribution

Me and a friend + his gf watch these movies every time they come out. It's not that we like them, it's more that it's a tradition. And just when I thought this franchise couldn't get any worse, this movie comes out. Wow... Just wow... It was hilariously bad, more so than the last and I don't even know how that's possible.

TLDR; Can't wait to see how much worse they make the next movie.

thats the reason why i love watching these movies, i always think "no, they cant..."
and afterwards "oh fuck they can"

its pretty much my guiltiest pleasure.

Prometheus: 4 / 10.- it isn't lower because of the atsmophere some -rarely- scenes had, and because of the Rapace + Fassbender acting. overall, a great story, that turned from one minute to the other into abysmall shit.

To be honest, I'd prefer a 0/10 movie over a mediocre 5/10. At least the most shitty ones are entertaining in their awful way. Mediocre films are just horrible.

I actually have to agree with that. After some time you just completely stop taking the movie seriously and you have lots of lols Smile

The Expendables 2 - 5/10

Can't believe people still say "Rumor has it you were dead" during first encounter in 2012. Well the whole movie is full of bad one-liners, not sure if anyone said "I'm too old for this shit" they're probably saving that for the sequel.

It's like the Avengers (a lot of famous actors, or well known actors, in one place). Except everyone is a grandpa in this one Laughing

like i said, for a ridley scott movie...it was shit...but as a standalone sci fi movie, its not bad

When it comes on the movie chans and then on reg tv, its a good movie if nothing else is on

And theres going to be a marathon in like a year
Prometheus - Alien - Aliens - Alien 3 - Alien Ressurrection

On one hand, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

On the other hand, it's quite upsetting that so many people have so few issues with a movie that's utterly and totally shit-tastic, and is somehow worse as an Alien "prequel" than I could have ever imagined.

The problem isn't that people enjoyed it - but that Ridley Scott gets to think he did a good job, and as such - he will never know how he's completely lost touch with his art - and should retire immediately.

No, you're the one making the same response to similar posts over and over again. You've taken it upon yourself to defend a piece of shit movie, end of story.

Almost forgot why I came here in the first place:

In Bruges - 9/10

Watched it again recently and it is still one of the greatest comedies I've ever seen. Most comedies have almost no value in repeat viewings, but this makes me laugh every single time. Showed it to my sister and she loved it too. Third time I've seen it and I still shed a small tear towards the end.

Looper - 4/10 - Disappointed. Could have been alot better. All the praise and great reviews are simply not true. Barely a sci fi - more like a romance with slim plot and quite boring. Unrealistic time travelling techniques.

In Bruges was a fantastic sleeper hit for me, didn't expect much and the movie absolutely amazed me. Can't wait to see McDonagh's new movie, Seven Psychopaths, looks good as well Razz
