It's an old version that I use in several games, with just the sharpening+SMAA enabled
4treyu wrote: | crackerbear wrote: | 4treyu wrote: | Believe me Waldo, it's very subtle At first I wasn't noticing either. Hit the Scroll Lock key while in game and there you sould see the light |
It's so subtle that it's not worth using, at least on the settings ixigia uploaded.
If anyone's familiar with Photoshop, it's basically like applying an unsharp mask of about 30% - which is basically nothing, especially when you're going to be moving around. |
Hmmm you might have a point as I'm actually using the latest version of sweetfx (which is not the same as Ixigia's) with default settings, and those settings include a "vibrance" that is enabled by default, and is disabled on ixigia's one. It applies a suble increase in color saturation that I really like more than the default, as it's not overdone, imo. |
Yep I disabled the vibrance because I don't like to change the look of a game too much, lowering the gamma already does the job fine when it comes to have more vivid colors, imo.
About the sharpening, the #define sharp_strength is set on 1.0 by default, you might try a higher value <2 if you like.

v5 3DM crack fixes that problem. I would guess the Skidrow crack also fixes it.
v3 Save files are at C:\ProgramData\3DMGAME\3DMGAME\205100\storage
The new saves location for v5 is here: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\SKIDROW\205100\Storage
Just copy and paste the old save file(s) to there. The time and date will only appear on new saves and wont work if you overwrite the old ones. |
Well i have only used v5 but the stamps went away after sweetfx were added.

Finished it. Almost all day playing. Decent game, but nothing quite extraordinary.
Definitely props to offering different play styles and nicely structured levels having more than 1 or 2 paths of achieving your goals. I used to alternate between stealth and pure action between missions as well.
But will give it somewhere around 6.5-7/10. The story was a downside for me and I couldn't quite get soaked in the atmosphere of Dunwall.

Pretty lame when a guard can spot you while hiding in the shadows

Because so far I'm not that impressed
|
No, areas won't open and levels are similar to Deus Ex HR, as in there are loading times between certain level areas and missions are based around one single "level", which, for my personal taste, is anything but completely open...
I am not that impressed either, but I play along and enjoy the Thief/BioShock low vibe I get from this.

I'd say it's more realistic, but then I'm teleporting around the city and turning into rats. There's nothing like the thrill of hiding in shadows with a guard walking not even a foot away, alas, I won't understand that decision. It's my only real gripe so far.

Im using the Skidrow release and have no timestamps ? It just says
Hours Minutes Seconds

Replaced the Skidrow crack with the v5 0-3DM and timestamps are now working properly

I nicely stowed all the bodies I knocked out, strange. Great game which seems to reward exploration. The blink ability opens up a lot of possibilities. I don't quite understand the heart though. Do I hear the secrets/thoughts of the person I am holding it at?

No, sadly, which really is a shame as it would have opened another avenue of non-lethal takedowns.

Werelds wrote: | For those complaining about textures: as a ton of people have already said, the game has this water/oil painting style, they're not meant to be super crisp. And if you're not convinced that they aren't in fact shit textures, just look at any sign. It's all readable; in most games nowadays you can't read any. I've not come across any that weren't readable. They're not amazing quality, but for the most part it fits the style of the game.
As for the rest of the game for me so far, this just about sums it up:
Loading times are just ridiculous, it's done loading before I even see a "Loading..." blink. It's got a crapton of options (more so than DX:HR, its closest competitor), proper controls, good combat mechanics, huge attention to detail. Particularly all the conversations going on and such are pretty brilliant; although thanks to one of the early NPCs I constantly hear the same damn song in my head now. What shall we do with the drunken sailor...
As for the bad? I don't like having to choose between jaggies, low vaseline or high vaseline. I'm not a fan of the injector sharpen shit either, so fuck that. Fortunately, the game itself is so good so far that I really couldn't care less about how shit looks |
Man, that song is evil, damn it! I was whistling it for a while, then I found its text ... then the singing began. Now you just reminded me, so fuck you, too

XCOM has a really old and loyal fanbase, it's an established franchise. Something similar to when Diablo 3 released (hundreds of thousands playing) regardless of the quality of the game (though I hear this XCOM is pretty good).
Dishonored on the other hand, is a completely new franchise. But given the great quality of the product, should become a very successful one.
