does anyone still use IRC for downloading with? Does anyone know any websites to search IRC ? they all seem to be down Sad

Haven't done that for yeeeeeeears. Used Packetnews.com or something like that. Site is down now, so it doesn't really matter.

No, I only use IRC for autodownload releases using announce channels of private torrent trackers. Smile

Why isnt IRC still popular??? Was it just because people find it easier using torrent sites or soemthing eg just hit download and go (IRC is a little more command based / involed..). Seems to be hardly any search engines about for it now.

I always get high speeds on it like 900kb per second (max connection out)

not any more lol, I think because theres quite a lack of people using it now theres hardly any ques anymore LOL

started again using it after all the filehosters went crazy.
i don't download that much anymore so i don't really need an usenet account or something like that.

so it's ok for me to download like in the old days

I think it looks more of a l33t way. If someone sees me using mIRC all they see is lists and lists of coloured text etc flowing down, they think its like something off the Matrix lol.

Thing is its alot easier than it looks but they dont believe it lol...
