I think you get elevated position bonuses in general. The more you're elevated or something. Sniper perk just enhances this even more so my guess is, flying gives a huge bonus in general. Not sure though. But I remember getting very good percentages on my flying guys.

Maybe, but the text states "the usual" bonus.. which is the annoying part. So either the text is wrong or the flight suit is only useful as a tank measure - giving +8 health and, in flight, +20 defence.

i don't know what it is. i put my sniper in th corner at max height and she hits anything and everything in overwatch or otherwise.

Had my first game related real life nightmare
My heavy colonel with 22 missions and 25 kills died on a mission after being raped by a berserker just once, even his full health didn't save him
Witnessed that whole mission again in a dream. Thinking taking a break from a game for a few days

He was with arch thrower, my whole team with exception of sniper used them. In my game there is almost no chrysalids, only gathered enough bodies to make one Chitin plating. But after that mission I have changed load out to
2 Heavies with grenades
2 Supports with 3x medkits + arch thrower
1 Sniper with scope
1 Assault with arch thrower

Concerning the Archangel suit, I was disappointed myself about not getting bonuses for flying, but I guess it makes sense for balance reasons. Snipers are already nigh on overpowered. If you gave them even more advantages it would be far too easy for a levelled up sniper in an Archangel suit to clear a map by themselves without even moving, with the other guys just opening up sight lines and flushing out the aliens.
For Berserkers, I find a good strategy, once you have some mid- to high-level soldiers and laser (or better, plasma) weapons, is to pair an Assault that has Close Combat Specialist and Rapid Fire with another soldier and position them so that you can use the second soldier to bait the Berserker towards them. As long as the second soldier is slightly behind the Assault, when the Berserker passes the Assault they will get an automatic reaction shot from Close Combat, then on their turn they can use Rapid Fire to load another 2 rounds into it. Assuming everything hits, 3 rounds at point blank range with a laser scattergun/alloy cannon (at least one of which should crit), plus whatever damage the 2nd soldier did with their initial shot, should take it down no trouble. But yeah before that, ouch lol.
