Sorry, missed your post. It's annoying, though. No way to change it, it seems.

Worst optimized game I have ever played. Getting 15-20 FPS.

It also slows down like an emulator would below intended FPS Laughing

Not having any text problems at least..

I guess you don't have "modern gaming hardware", since that's what the game takes advantage of Laughing

Would be foolish to think that such a "truly stunning graphical experience on PC" could run smoothly on nowadays' hardware.

Oh well, the graphics aren't anything to write home about maxed out anyway, so I turned them down and now it's running at 30 FPS. Too bad it's the kind of 30 FPS that is extremely noticeable.

Overall, I'm actually liking the game more than I thought I would. It's making me want a new Rune with less monsters and more vikings.

Yeah I guess it must have been something like that.

As for the game I'm slowly liking it a bit more and more as I keep playing, still have a lot of things to learn but I'm getting better at the combat and such too. Very Happy

EDIT: Took the first island, now things are getting really interesting.

There are some similarities early on but no doubt this will change drastically when the game actually starts throwing you into the larger battles.

I'm not sure what to compare it against, mainly because this is the first time actually playing the game since it's original release, saw some images back in 2008 when it first came out but I didn't know much about the game at all before now.

I guess you have to unplug the gamepad, I assume it selects it by default if one is detected.
(Unless you can change that in the launcher before starting the game.)

I played a bit and the game isn't bad, but it's very consolish which I don't really like. Also, the port is pretty bad, but at least playable, unlike most bad ports.

So, bad port as in badly implemented things (such as the camera, and key bindings and stuff), or bad port as in shitty performance?

With this said, how is the performance?

Performance sucks, it's capped at 30 fps but feels like 20 fps. It's not a smooth 30 like Dark Souls for example.

Yup.. I'm having control issues too, despite actually having my controller work 100% as a 360 one. Jesus H Fucking Christ, what kind of pathetic port is this? Thanks for the link Boysetsfire, works like a charm.

The game itself seems to run fine, no issues with performance except for that framerate cap. Hopefully someone CAN patch it out as the game is really enjoyable and I would recommend it to anyone.

Anyone else having an issue where you can't access the merchant/vendor in the first village? Usually he sells food and supplies, especially maps, but now you can't even access him.. no prompt or anything. The only vendor that works is the blacksmith. Whenever someone walks up to the vendor, they both jump back as if they bumped into each other, then nothing happens.

~edit~

Thanks again JB <3

I had to liberate the farm area first and finish a delivery of goods to him as a little side quest. Smile
(Then he sold some very useful items.)

Thanks JB, perhaps I'm just remembering incorrectly from the 360 version. Perhaps I do need to liberate the farm first.

yeah the cap kinda sucks

besides that i really like this game. it has that release stress factor just bashing some guys and liberate stuff , nothing really annoying besides the cap. keep in mind it's a four year old game.

for 13 bucks not to shabby.

i got a question tho, u have fire, ice and lightning u can use.
i mainly use powers for big battles. is there a diff between using them against different enemies ? because i mostly resort to fire.

plus stalking up the big guys and slashing them from behind is just plain fun.
